How do you merge stacks?

Tue Jan 18, 2011 5:18 am

I just was trying to detach some corps from a quiet sector and move them off to someplace more useful. After I had detached two corps from an army, I realized that one of them was an intrinsic corps of that army, so I decided to put him back again. I spent twenty minutes doing everything I could think of to put him back in again without success. I've attached the save game. Try to put the 6-4-7 corps in the detached stack back into VII Army in Colmar. And let me know the exact steps, including where on the screen you dragged the shadowy image.

Thanks.

This game needs an "undo" button.

Two ways:

1) Drag the one 6-4-7 corps stack and drop it over the HQ VII Army stack. You'll see a popup menu asking which stack you want to merge with. Then select the HQ VII Army stack. The merge will work (I tested).

2) Use the Forces Management window:
a) First send a corps on the HQ to the Reserves, because totally 5 corps are actually placed in Colmar area (mountains), where max 4 corps are allowed for stacking limits;
b) then open the Forces Management window (top-right button in the 3x3 button grid in the bottom panel) and drag the 6-4-7 corps (browse and locate the stack) and drop it over the HQ VII Army stack (browse and locate the stack). The merge will work (I tested).

I figured out about sending it to the reserves.

I wasn't able to drag and drop - that was the first thing I tried. It might have to do with my slow and clumsy machine. I try and it grinds away for a few seconds and then gives me a message down in the bottom right saying that it is an intrinsic corps (which I knew).
