General perambulations with a screenshot

My rather bugged but still enjoyable first campaign. Playing as the Russians (as you can see) in four player mode.
This is not exactly an AAR, more of a generalised rambling on the game and my game (I felt it would be a bit misleading to post it in the AAR section)

1. 1914 Russian Highwater mark.

2. Successful 1915 Grand Offensive to capture Koenigsburg with Russian I, under Rennenkampf and IX, under Ewarth.

3. Destruction of Isolated German VIII and IX armies

4. Successful 1916 June-August Grand Offensive with Russian III, under the Czar and XII, under Ewarth, (I believe in rewarding success :) ) armies

With a sense of appreciation towards to history and the marvelous benefits of hindsight I decided to keep the Czar's military pretensions happy by giving him the 3rd army with all the most up to date tanks and planes. My advances in aviation being the best in the known world!
(because im a veritable noob who didn't notice you could scroll down on the technological table until mid 1916 and therefore spent the best part of 13 turns trying to discover mounted machineguns :bonk :)

So...with me bearded bucko Nicko happy and succeeding I was a little peturbed that the entire Russian armed force mutinied in September 16'.

Still, its certainly been a learning curve. Various things slipping me by in ignorance. Like the fact that Redeployment means you can move your leaders around aswell. (which would have helped against the mutiny quite considerably) Actually reading about how you get your tanks to take part in an offensive before you start yelling abuse at your pixelated tank crews.

Although certain bugs have helped the enemy aswell, like the 1916 successful German Offensive in Thorn... Now if you can remember where Thorn is...Does it look like its in German hands? Bearing in mind that the German NW is on 8. and they received a +10 NW for their 'successful offensive' The cheeky devils. Turkey also managed a successful offensive in a place where all they did was receive a successful kicking.

Amusing moments of me clicking a reinforcment for Brusilov's I army and the game deciding to send it to the Army directly above in the Reinfocements list. Therefore The I army of Greece recieved quite a supprise when LVII ukranian corps turned up on their doorstep looking for vodka, whilst I quietly sobbed at the inefficency of the Russian General Staff.

Also when I sack a leader as I did with Mr Rennenkampf who took 3 attempts (sacking bonus my arse) I do not expect him to leap straight back into the Generals Pool, steal Ivanovs armbands and swim back to the front!

So inconclusion I have decided that I love the game and I'm definitley going to upgrade to Gold! :D
