Moving Save Files from PC to PC

Wed Aug 04, 2010 4:27 pm

I like to play at work ;) and home. I thought that copying August 1914.sav and .map would be enough to transfer from home to work. But it does not seem to see the file after I do this. Is this not alllowed?

It should work just fine.

I regularly transfered game files from a desktop running Vista to a laptop running XP. I have not had problems on resuming a saved game. The files are transfered via a wireless LAN.

I have not transfered WW1 game files using the last two patches (too hot outside for both me and my laptop). If there is an issue, it is a new one.

Be sure the path of the savegame inside the .SAV files are the same. This can be a cause of load failure.

Yea I later found out that Vista saves files in the UAC Virtualstore folder and XP does not. That really was my problem.
