First game finished

Thu Apr 16, 2009 10:50 pm

In November-December 1918 I just finished my first game.
I won a "bad peace". I guess russia collapsed in the end. The information box told me that communism spread all over the world and that I got a victory score of 0 (in words: zero).
O man, that's a really unspectacular score. I got france in 1917 out of war and occupied every city and town of russia.
OK, austria-hungria and turkey had the lowest parlaimant mood but germany had 40 points morale and had a hard-liner mood. Austria-Hungria and Turkey had only one strike and none of my armies had mutinies.
Are there any hints so that you can prevent such an end of war?
BTW I had much fun playing this game and looking forward playing the next game.

This outcome depends on how many nations collapsed due to a Communist revolution, of course. So try the way of separate peace with Russia, when you feel she's near to the end. This will prevent a Communist outcome. ;)

But did I miss a hint that this revolution was near?
Till this moment no nation collapsed because of a revolution. And at the end of the December18-turn I only got a text-box telling me that a worldwide revolution finished the game. At least germany and italy seemed very strong in morale so that they should be revolution-resistent.
I'm sure I heard 3 hurrays for the german kaiser in the background :D .

I do not recall how the calculation of "communism points" is done. Can you check how many countries are in Revolutionary status, and which ones are communist? Only Russia?

Calvinus,
what do you mean with "revolutionary status"?
Are countries with a strike or/and a mutiny in a revolutionary status?
If not, then only russia seemed to collapse.
But after this I only got the message and after I clicked on the message box I was forced to leave the game and was sent to the main menu. So I had no chance to look at the situation. But I will look at my last savegame tonite and report.
Perhaps it's a improvement suggestion not to be sent back automaticly to the main menu at the end of the game.

Revolutionary status is displayed in the top-left frame, below the nation flag. You see up to 4 icons.

I started the savegame Nov/Dec 1918 again.
No country was communist or in a revolutionary status.
I didn't reproduce the world revolution result again altough I didn't changed anything. I guess I try to propose a seperate peace with russia. If they accept I will win the game, right? France surrendered in 1917 already.

Yes, you will win if they will accept. If you have a new World Domination outcome, probably there's an error in the Victory calculation. So please post here the zipped savegame.

Thanks,
Calvinus.

Update:
I started the same savegame Nov/Dec 1918 again and made a sincere peace proposal to russia. The chances of success were 100%.
2 times I got the bad peace like before. The headline tells me that I reached "world domination" but it's a "bad peace" with a victory score of 0.
3 time I got a ctd.
I attach the savegame.

Edit: Calvinus, you were to fast for me again. But I learn to anticipate your wishes. ;)

Indeed there was a glitch in the Victory calculation. Fixed. Next patch, thanks.

Edit: you won with 17 VPs, I attached a screenshot.
