Feedback about the intro video: Although the game starts minimized, now I can see the intro video full screen, in all it's glory !
Good work, Calvinus, you are getting there

Now get some rest, before you get crazy

@ Rafiki: all other versions of patches (betas and official) should be "unsticked" to avoid confusion

I am not so lucky, unfortunately. Still no intro video in 1.04g

Stacking of multi-armies work if the nationality is the same...

I am aware that it should only work with armys that belong to the same nationality. But it doesn't - at least for me ...

Edit: Trying to be more precise: I play the central powers, I try to move a german army into an area which is already occupied by another german army. It doesn't work, I get the same message as I did using the previous patches, saying I'm not allowed to do this.
Looking at the opposing french armies, I can see that there are some stacks of different armies in one province. This is before the military phase of Jan.-Feb. 1915, I assume the AI must have stacked them in the redeployment phase, as this is the first try with an old savegame of 1.04e.
My version number definitely is 1.04g, I checked it again.

The patch does bring a lot of improvements concerning performance, by the way! :)

Thanks again for your hard work Calvinus. Game running fine. Now ive noticed that I have alot more events firing off(cool).

So get some rest-turn that machine off and watch a good movie

Remember that the stacking limits rule is still in effect...
However, you can disable this rule too (Options window).

I know... the AI boost is in effect.

If I select "No Intro Movie" in the configuration, it doesn't start minimized. Only when the movie is enabled does it start minimized. Maybe that helps figure the thing out.

I hate to be a pain but I have to tell you that I can't stack two armies in one province even when each of them only consists of one corps ... also in the message window there is no mention of a stacking limit - but it tells me that I am not allowed to stack two different armies (just like all the time with the older patches).

Edit: After playing a few more turns this evening, I can report the following: Occasionally, the game allows two German (or Austrian or Italian) armies in one Province. But only when they enter the province in the same turn, coming from two different areas.
In addition, the AI seems to have some major problems trying to cope with the possibility of stacking armies ... On the western front, for example, it put nearly all of the french armies into one area (I didn't turn off the stacking limit, by the way), exposing nearly the whole front.

Now the game won't let me advance past Aug. '14. It keeps telling me that not all my armies are activated (your cockeyed way of saying there are still mandatory attacks), yet there is not A SINGLE RED ARROW ON THE MAP.

It's been a month. This game should never been released when it was.

I've had this issue to. I can tell you Exactly what it is now. One of the mandatory move/attack armies (red flag) you *touched* in the UI and the red flag display disappeared some how.

To solve this I went back through the armies I believed started with a mandatory move/attack and moved them temporarily until the end turn was click-able.

*** The bug exists and the fix should be easy. ALSO, the game should take you to the first unit on the map that does not have the mandatory condition met when you try and end the turn. This should be the case until all are correct. Otherwise, you have no way to know, since the red flag display currently can go away without the condition for the army changing. As well, nobody wants to scan the whole map to try and determine what army needs to be moved. It's a big map!

Can you please post here the zipped savegame. I will check what happened particularly and try to fix.

Thanks,

For the mandatory offensives locking the game:

a) The "Historical War Plan" and "Abandonement of Plan XVI" were bugged, and caused this hang
b) Are you playing in WEGO mode?

Zip the two files composing the savegame (.SAV & .MAP) and post the zip file here (attachments).

Other good news: yesterday I finally managed to fix some nasty bug in the 4-players campaign mode!
a) Removed some crashes cause by AI in 4-players mode (indeed it was never factored to work with 3 AI players ;) , because the 4-players campaign has been designed for the cooperative multiplayer mode, as you know).
b) Fixed the nat bug that caused intra-allied battles and loss of area controls when a stack entered an allied area.

So I will soon go back to a deep double-checking of the Strictly Turn-Based game mode! :D

The development of 1.05 is proceding like a steamroller. Stay tuned.

Beta version of patch 1.05 is ready. Tomorrow Philippe will publish it on the forum.

I double-checked and fixed a lot of stuff regarding the Strictly Turn-Based mode, the Army-by-Army activation rule, and the 4-players campaign, plus the mandatory offensives etc. etc.

For example, I successfully completed the 1914 in 4-players mode (Germany), strictly turn-based & army-by-army activation, plus reactions, advanced breakthroughs and so on... in short words the most advanced game mode, with no hang, no infinite loop and no crash!

In addition, you will find a lot of scenario corrections, new features, various improvements and gameplay bugs fixed.

Thanks,
Calvinus.

Be sure the patch is installed..... It seems no...

Right-click on WW1.exe, select "Properties" and then go to the "Version" panel, the version must be 1.0.4.5, and the modification date must be 4 Dec. 2008 h21:56:50 CET
Other way to check if the patch is installed, run the WW1 Configurator, you must see a new check-box "AI Logs"... ;)

I have the same issue. I've downloaded and installed 1.0.4.g. but my start up screen still show 1.0.4.d. I've checked the files properties and the check "AI" button on configure, they all match up. Is this a non-issue?

Probably not a problem. Probably Vista denied you the overwrite of just the WW1.ini file, but it's a bit suspect... In your shoes, I would make a backup copy of all saved games, do an uninstall, and a fresh install, then applying the 1.05A beta-patch. Once finished, copy the backupped saved games inside the proper folder and double-check the WW1.ini file, because a couple of guys found it corrupted after the install of 1.05A on a fresh install of 1.03... ;)

Thanks. I'll try that, but I don't see 1.05a listed on the main forum. I'll keep looking.

We had technical problems with the new patch 1.05B.

I will work all night long and I'll do my best in order to let you have the new patch tomorrow morning. It will be anyway a beta-patch, provided the huge amount of fixes and improvements I added, that need to be tested before an official launch.

Just a bit of patience.

Thanks,
Calvinus.
