Fans of hardcore strategy need not fear – a lot of said stodginess is still there, and nobody could accuse the game of lacking detail. It’s just that the presentation has been softened to such an extent that a new player at least stands a fighting chance of getting a handle on the mechanics.
I would not go so far as to call Birth of America an easy game to get into, but there’s a lot of depth to it that will reward a bit of patient study – and at least with this game you’ll only have to study for days rather than weeks!
