it's nowhere to be found on the playable zones of the 1812-1815 war. But the game has placed it in Boston and I cannot move it back to Albany. I will try to send a boat to pick it directly from the coast.

Edit: AFAIK, you will not be able to move the unit

The only way 'out' is to back up a turn, make a minor change in orders, and rehost the turn. It's a random location, so hopefully it won't be Boston again

The minor change is needed because the engine 'seeds' and saves a random number [or something like that ], so a turn with no changes at all exactly repeats [this is a debug tool: very useful or we would have a hard time repeating your problems ]
