Royal Pardon in 1.03c glitch

Wed Dec 03, 2008 12:09 pm

In the 'optionsdip' file in the 'WIA/events' folder, there are negative signs on the loyalty modifiers for the "Royal Pardon" event. This causes the opposite of what is intended and is easily fixed by their removal.

Conditions
CheckOption = $gmaOptionDip;GBR_Royal_Pardon;=;1
EvalEngagementPts = >=;20

Actions
ChgFacEngagementPts = -20
ChangeLoyaltyFac = $New_England; -5 (should be +5)
ChangeLoyaltyFac = $Middle_States; -5 (should be +5)
ChangeLoyaltyFac = $South_Central; -5 (should be +5)
ChangeLoyaltyFac = $Deep_South; -5 (should be +5)
GenTextMsg = opt_notify_GBR_Royal_Pardon;1;NULL;NULL;NULL

Loyalty changes are always referenced vs the USA position. 100 = '100% Rebel', 0 = '100% Tory', so changes in favor of GBR should be expressed as negative.

I double checked the DB [including the BoA DB for 'history' of Loyalty events], and this is WAD.

Edit: Oops, not true! Thanks for the report and for setting me straight. ;)

Do you have a saved game that reflects movement in wrong direction? If so, please zip and upload here.

Thank you for your report :)

Attached the save game file in .rar format. I changed the script file back to the original code in a new game and the loyalty went backwards again. This is the only thing I changed in the files, I promise ;)

I am running Vista 32, if that might make a difference.

Confirmed! :thumbsup: Sorry I doubted you :o

What's confused me is that there are many negative Loyalty events for GBR that lower Tory loyalty whenever the GBR Army appears [as was historically true]

Interestingly, this event is scripted 'correctly' in the 1778 Campaign :blink: :wacko: :bonk:

Ah well, even Babe Ruth didn't bat .500 :blink:

Thank you for your report!!!! :love:
