Order - Printed Manual?

Sun Jul 20, 2008 5:49 pm

Hi all,

I am a happy owner of BoA and ACW (other than not having time to play enough to suit me) and would like to order WIA. I am in the USA and don't see an option to order with the printed manual and physical media. Being old fashioned, I like to have a printed manual and don't mind paying more for it. I can't find an order option other than download, is it possible to order WIA with the paper manual?

Thanks,
George

I'd also be willing to pay more to get a boxed version with a manual. Is there any chance that this will ever happen? If so, is there a chance that people who bought the downloaded version might get a discount for the boxed version (that way I'd buy the download version now, and then get the box version when/if it arrives)?

Patience to all -- this game is not yet a month old. In the past (from what I read) Ageod has waited to release boxed versions, after seeing how the sales #'s looked on download. Remember that they are an international company and have to think of cost.

I'm not impatient really, I just don't want to pay to download the game if they plan on releasing a boxed version in 3 months. If they don't plan on doing that I might as well get the game now, but if they are planning on doing it, I'd rather wait (unless there's a chance for a discount, for the people who bought the download version). I just want to know either way.

I am so old fashioned. Of course, most people who play games about antique wars may be a bit old fashioned....

I have BoA, ACW and NCP all boxed. It was a good idea, since I have had to wipe and reload more than once. Even after moving on to other things, I come back to them all months later.

An enduring game deserves an enduring format!

I'm not aware of any plans for boxed versions, nor am I aware of there not being any (yeah, not very helpful, I know)

What I do know, is that it's perfectly OK if you wish to burn the downloaded installer file and your serial key onto a CD (perhaps along with the most current patch, as of the burning) so that you'll have a backup of what you need to install (and play) the game. I know this isn't quite the same as having a full-fledged boxed version, but it should at least take care of wipe/reload concerns :)

Hi!

As the AGEOD bosses (the ones who could better ask to this questions) are on vacations, i will try to give some non official answers. :innocent:

- Don't know if AGEOD plans to sell directly physical copies of the game or when.
- All their previous games had been released on retail shops by local distributors on a lot of different countries. I bet WIA will also get distributed around. Of course, no idea of possible release dates... :bonk:

- If you want a physical copy of the game, your best bet for the moment is Matrix Games. One of Matrix bosses has announced the release of the game as download, physical or download+physical. Psychical includes printed manual. Planned date is late august it seems. Check here
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1873598
By previous experience with Matrix, the price will be similar to the AGEOD one on Digital download, plus 10 $ for physical plus shipping expenses.

- Of course the downside of buying AGEOD digital download version is that you have to print the pdf manual yourself or read it on screen.
Fortunately, you download the game in a 500 mb sized file which you can easily backup on a CD-R (or hard disk or pen drive...) on 2 minutes and store it safely and use for future installs without any other limitation. As good as a real CD game. Just don't lost your serial key :siffle:

- The good thing about buying directly from AGEOD is that the guys who best deserve our money and support (AGEOD) gets 100% of the money, and not just a fraction of it as it happens if you buy it on a retail shop or through other distributors. :cwboy:

Regards!

EDIT: :bonk: Rafiki was faster than me... but i say more things!! :niark:
