i have the knowledge for a great scenario of the beaver wars:
nations:
iroquois confederacy (mohawk, oneida, onondaga, cayuga, seneca)
each one in alliance with the rest, but each one have his own goals. they coveted the more valuable furs from the north. but this commerce is already in the hands of the hurons...in upstate new york, homeland of the iroquois the furs are not so much...perhaps you can imagine the desteny of the iroquois, encroached between the french, the dutch and the more populous indian confederations they must find a way...or they vanished.
huron confederacy, allied with the french, the montagnais and the algonquin, they control the fur trade and the commerce routes of the great lakes. they find in the french a great partner. but the iroquois menace his supremacy in the fur trade.
mahicans (hudson valley) allied with the abenakis and the lower hudson tribes, before the arrival ofthe dutch on the hudson they count 1000 warriors. scatered in small villages in the forests they fight the mohawks and loose.
neutrals (a loose federation of tribes inhabited niagara region), they control the niagara pass, and when the defeated hurons sought refuge among them they acepted. this enraged the iroquois who attack his villages.
susquehannocks, very powerful tribe of the upper susquehanna river. legend said that in only one village they count 1700 warriors. fierce enough to mantain a guerrilla warfare with the iroquois for 20 years they sucumbed to a raid made by maryland colonists on his fort.
lenape, the grandfathers of the algonquin tribes, respected by manny the are excellent warriors but live in scatered villages and this only benefitted his enemies. they mantain a arrogant presence with new sweden.
ottawas: when the huron are vanished in the frozen forests defeated by a army of 1000 iroquois warriors...the ottawas seized the empty place of the hurons, but the iroquois didn't like.
petun, they are know by the sugestive name the tobbaco nation, but when they receive huron refugees the iroquois warned them...and the next year they make a simpatic visit to his villages...
the dutch, they settled manhatan and the lower hudosn valley, they maintain a fort (orange) in the upper hudson, were is now albany. they mantain a loose balance between the mahicans and the mohawks. the last want free access to the monopoly of fur trade that the mahicans have with the dutch.
the dutch wants to the fur trade thatnew sweden maintain with the susquehannocks and the delawares.
the french, settled the st lawrence (quebec, trois rivieres, montreal), champlain, and the jesuits open a channel trade with the hurons, and when champlain go for war with them against the mohawks, things are more clear now. the french huron algonquin alliance must preserve the st lawrence ottawa great lakes route open or new france will perish.
british...they are far away, in new england, but they supplie the abenakis and mahicans with arms and powder...from pinchon tradehouse in connecticut.
new sweden...they are few, but entrepeneurs...and when they have the susquehannock and the delawares within his spheres of commerce they can mantain a foothold in the new world...but the dutch want that commerce...so...
this is the turmoil of northeastern north america...in these days...blood, revenge, torture, great and small raids...villages burned...europeans inside the forts...
