NCP (public beta) code patch 1.07 (beta 4 update July 1st)

Mon May 17, 2010 5:04 pm

Dear players,

Here is the new public beta, code patch for Napoleon's Campaigns. You are welcome to test and try it.
Knows though that it is not save compatible.

There can be glitches ... or not :neener: so be sure to understand that this is a beta patch and not the official, finalized one!

See post #9 for UPDATE 4

Best regards,
the AGEOD Team.

May, 17th, 2010

================================================== ========================

This code patch only contains the latest additions in the code.
SAVE ARE NOT COMPATIBLE – YOU NEED TO RESTART A GAME
This patch is comprehensive and can patch any version since v 1.01.

Interface
Battle report now display the actual generals stats, not the ones from the database

Game logic
Hits recovery procedure improved.
Fixed: a bug in determining victory level (major vs minor victory)
ZOC don’t prevent retreat anymore
Retreat damages algorithm improved with variables exported for modding (see AGE Wiki)

AI
AI will be less aggressive (parameters exported for modding)
AI will regroup better corps with army HQ (‘flocking behavior’)
New AI algorithm: concentrate, can apply to all threatened stacks.
Leaders now redeploy slightly better toward candidate stacks
It is now possible to define an affinity for each leader toward certain stacks (modding)
Fixed: Theaters ratio miscalculated sometime, leading to too aggressive behaviors in some cases.

Modding & Scripting
Commander in chief class ability added
Winter quarters / Recon & Raid can be disabled by flag
Prisoners scripts commands added
Region dynamic graphics commands added
EvalRgnWeather command added

Thanks Pocus :)

Little glitch in version number while loading.

Armies and fleets portraits of armies now uses the HQ graphic instead of the Commander in Chief? Also happens in AACW. Is it WAD now?

You did not use the new portrait of Barbou ;)

The portrait problem is fixed for beta 2, thanks.
Send me again these portraits, that's strange I missed them.

:coeurs: Thanks!

But the "struggle of nations" scenario is still messy, and the game always crashes in the first battle (it also happens in the AACW patch :blink :)

Right, but this a problem in the Battle Animation glass ... the battle themselves run fine.

so ...

Until Beta Patch 2, please run the game WITHOUT Battle Animation ON, or the game will make an interface crash (see the checkbox in the Options window, Main Menu)

They are here, but like Wedell, only if you do not prefer the old ones :)

Patch beta 3 is up

http://ageoddl.telechargement.fr/temp/patch_NCP_v1.07b3.zip

Mostly a bug fixed on March to the Sounds of Gun plus updating NCP to the latest engine version.

Plus this one from WIA:
* You no longer assault structures if you are still moving, you only assault them if you have stopped moving (the region of the structure is your destination or you don't move at all) UNLESS your ROE is also 'all out attack'. Both the assault posture and ROE tooltips have been updated to explain that to the player.

Very nice indeed.....a beta patch too  .....just wanted to say hello to everyone and that I just purchased the game NCP.....my thoughts are congrats on the beautiful map that was created and also the 3d markers....I really do enjoy the work that was put into creating the map and markers and it really does add to the game....well done :) Here is hoping that you come up with a masterpiece in NCP2....there is not many out there to choose from these days that are well designed so here's hoping for all the success in the making of NCP2 for AGEod...you produced a great game in the Blue and the Gray and I expect no less in the next NCP2.....you may want to consider the same type of map for the next sequel on that one too....along with some more 3d markers....love to see the artwork come to life.....especially when its done like this....in very good taste :)

Just bought NC and installed the latest beta patch - is it normal that I don't see the green and red bars anymore in the battle looking glass? The information one gets is spare enough and the bars are missing, too. :)

Otherweise - I love it. I don't know why people thought it's lacking.

Yes, this was reported, it should work in the next (beta) patch though. We are close to stable, official, patch.

Very good work with the beta patch, many thanks and congratulations!! All my reported troubles on the 1813 campaign are gone! I noticed some other minor problems on other campaigns. Maybe one can take a look at it:

1814 Campaing - Coalition: Grand Duke Constantin appears twice, as is Marshall Wittgenstein.

All (?) Campaigns: there is a little gun, showing up now and then, bombarding around. Is there a meaning in this?

Keep up the good work and again many thanks!

Errors in 1806 Prussian campaign

Fri Aug 13, 2010 10:36 pm

I managed to find some errors in the prussian campaign, at least, I think they are errors... I played as coalition and I installed the beta version.

@ After the siege of Dresden in the beginning, Murat and Grouchy retreat. The rest of the French army has not been in action between september-november.

@The French don't show up at all, during the winter. Prussia and Russia get all the time of the world to regroup their armies and make supply-zones.

@The French are all assembled in Metz, they stay there.

@Exept for Berlin, wich is besieged by a French supply-unit for several months. It can't be extinguished.

@The siege shows up in the battle reports after each turn. Apearently, the supply unit managed to inflict some breaches in the Berlin Wall...

@The French don't come in to action, but they get 118 National Morale. Their VP stays behind a bit, being only 81.

@Coalition has only 104 NM, but gets 1947 VP.

@That makes it a bit weird, that it ends only in a minor victory for coalition...

Hope you can do something about it!

Greets,

Hugo
