Editable Army/Corps Names

Thu Jun 05, 2008 10:17 am

I just posted as regard at ACW forum:

Guess it could usefull and nice to the the chance to edit Army/Corps names.
Indeed, Corps names are a little problem within NCP, while they work fine within ACW.

Army names are troublesome within ACW, in so far you can have your new Army named "West Army" or "Missisipi Army", while you have created it at and to operate in Virginia.

Having player the chance to name and re-edit Army names during the game will fix this a little problem.

I have to add that with NCP we have also a trouble with Corps names.
When for any reasons new Corps are formed they are named according to a capital number or by Corps leader.
So it happens to have both a "II Corps" both a "Davoult Corps": it could usefull to have a major eveness!

Or when you fiddle with Corps units to improve CP usage, I Corps (Russian Campaign) becomes Davout's Corps, etc. If you dont pay attention to the stars on the tabs, something called Dingbat's Corps might not even BE a Corps.
Pity the Commander who has Corps within range of different armies; it can be difficult to tell which army they belong to. It would be nice to see it on Units panel: III Corps>1st Army of the West, or what ever its associated army happens to be named, or REnamed as the game goes on.
