Hi and welcome to the forums! 
You have two ways of getting the detailed results:
1-On the main menu go to Options and be sure the "Pause after battle" option is checked. This will automatically call up the detailed battle report after each battle on the turn resolution phase.
2- After the turn is executed, you can see again the battle reports by doing a double click over the battle result message line you will find on the message log.
Any red texts line on the message log can be clicked to get and expanded window: battle results, event texts window...
