Tips wanted for Army HQ movement

Tue Jul 08, 2008 12:10 am

I have had army HQs blunder forward of their Corps and get knocked off by a vengeful Athena. Any tips for avoiding this?
If an army HQ is in a stack, is there any way of delaying the army HQ's movement to insure the Corps elements enter the forward hex first, or on retreat the HQ moves out first?

Enable Synchronized Move, then advance your Army Force and all same region stacked Corps to the desidered destination.
Set Army Force ROE to Defensive Command Postures, while Corps ROE should be set to Offensive Command Postures.
With that Army Force should avoid engagement.

You could also try forming your Army Force with Guard and other support units, then place a general with committ the guard special ability in command of Army Force!
This last works great,.... most of times!

I am not thinking in terms of combined movement, but in terms of, say march order, staggered along a road. I want units to arrive at a location in a planned, sequential order, or maybe some not move as far, but not have planned unit 3 out of 5 arrive First.

You can plan Forces movement at will: execution is anyway unpredictable......Corps can be delayed for a mess of reasons!
It's one of the great features NCP supports: and it's very relistic too!
