Counters covering other info

Tue Mar 11, 2008 4:24 pm

A persistent interface problem for me is unit counters covering other information. Sometimes I can't see the path plotted for a unit because so many other counters are in the same region. I know where it starts, of course, and where it ends, but not the intermediate steps, at least not for sure. This is relevant when I am not sure if a unit is taking a direct path to an adjacent province, or will be moving via a third province for some reason that may be enemy-occupied.

This was NCP, but it equally happens in BoA. I recall a game where I never could tell the progress of the siege of Oswego because my own besieging army counter persistently covered the siege icon. No shifting around would help.

Any solution? :innocent:

It is an issue sometimes in AACW as well. I check paths by using the delete key to step backwards through the path. I have one PBEM opponent who consistently seems to place his units over relevent information, like seige and blockade icons. Maybe it is just the game, probably not deliberate. :non:

Would there be a chance to have a button or key that makes the unit counters (and only them) temporarily transparent, or entirely disappear? I know of other computer games that have this ability. It helps me to check terrain in TOAW, for instance. :)
