Gray Lensman assumes coordinatorship for NCP

Fri Aug 22, 2008 10:37 am

AGEOD has the pleasure of announcing that Gray_Lensman will be taking on the role of coordinator for Napoleon's Campaigns.

Anyone who has been playing AGEOD's American Civil War should be familiar with the impressive work Gray_Lensman's has been doing for AACW, and I'm sure that the NCP fans and players will welcome him with open arms into their corner of our community :)

As a coordinator, he will be responsible for integrating and coordintaing the work done by various modders and testers (such as the excellent work done by Nikel and JastaV), making sure that the NCP databases remain consistent and properly updated, and he will act as a focal point for the contact between the community and the development team.

Great news. I even think that Gray should be a part of Ageod's team. His excelent work is one of the reasons AACW excels. I finally have some hope in improvements in NCP map... :innocent:

Excellent news. This will sure make NPC even better game.
For me NPC has the best engine of all AGEOD games that I own (BOA, NPC, AACW), but its huge potential was used only recently by Nikel and JataV :coeurs:

I seem to derive just as much pleasure seeing a wargame come together functionally and historically correct, as I do in playing them through. That's probably the hobby programmer in me showing through. Since it's rather late in life to start a new programming career, this is the next best thing, especially once I retire in a few years. (4 1/2 years at the most).

I want to do more than "squeeze in some turns here and there." (I've got at least five games/game series on my play list, but I never have time to actually play more than one or two of them.) But, yes, I too derive almost as much satisfaction attempting to improve and "fix" a game as playing it. And game programming/modding is a great application for my programming expertise as I, too, near retirement (sadly still ten+ years away :( ).
