And, blimey, if I could at least get rid of that O'Donell, who has been with me from early beginning, but can't be made useful in any way.

Incidentally one of the biggest problems with the Spanish officers is that only rarely do they get promoted to corps command, thanks to French victories, with the effect of having most of the army in unwieldy corps under La Romana (hopeless), Palafox (decent), Belvedere (hopeless) and San... something who comes with La Romana. There is also another one who comes witht the northern officers in 1810 but has only one star, but in effect can form a corps. I forgot the name coz I only discovered him yesterday.

EDIT: and there's Coupigny, who arrives at Sevilla as a div commander, but who can be promoted on the turn he appears.
I use British and Portugese corps commanders for the Spanish. Works fine. There's supposed to be a nationality penalty for commanding foreign troops, but I have yet to experience it. Anyone know what it is?
