how to stop the Cossacks

Thu Feb 07, 2008 1:07 am

I'm playing The Thames or Danube campaign, and my Coalition opponent is able to send his Cossacks behind my lines at will. I have attempted to set up cavalry screens, but the Cossacks just go right through them.

How to keep enemy cavalry from ranging at will behind my lines?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Gary, I know Im the opponent :) , but I hope you find an answer, what I usually do is if there is no garrsion in a depot or Fort/city is detach a unit from one of my divisions and leave it in the city or depot until a garrison unit is raised, it weakens your divisions slighty but its better than your corps or army having supply difficulties and having to retreat, anyway hope this helped and looking forward to the next turn :)

Cossacks shouldnt be able to penetrate your lines if you have a division or more in an Offensive or Assault command posture. Units in a Defensive or Passive posture will let a cossack scoot right on through.
