Napoleons Egyptain campaigns

Fri Feb 01, 2008 12:34 pm

Hi there, I would just like to say thanks for the new scenarios in the 1.03 patch, Is there any chance we might see a scenario depicting Napoleons Egyptain campaign?, thanks.

How about a scenario editor so we can do it ourselves? Or is there already a way to do that?

Just wondering.

I think there are chances we'll see it, as long as we can find portraits of numerous ottomans leaders (although most blank) and generals who went in Egypt like Kléber and Desaix, who both died in 1800. :) :innocent:

Why don't you start collecting the data, such as OOBs, timeline, events, portraits of leaders (especially the non-French side), troop types, etc... post them here so we can use them in the future :cwboy:

This game begs for a grand campaign. But I understand that that would be a major workload, especially in regards to the AI.

Perhaps you could also cover the Revolutionary wars from 1792 to 1802? I hope that this game engine (so recently discovered by me) goes on from strength to strength...it really is a breath of fresh air into a stagnant, tried and tested market.

Thanks.

@Longhairedout : Does your book have portraits of ottomans & mameluks leaders ?
Beyond that, I looked for orders of battle of the turco-mameluk side, but couldn't find something very detailed. So far, the best i've found on the web are these simple franco-mameluk OOBs, on this site.

But I think that those guys who play boardgames should have these oob somewhere. Egypt Campaigns are not the most unknown of conflicts... :tournepas

Thanks for the links. I have to have them stored somewhere, but this is useless for me at the time being (sorry).

It takes a lot of time to get the proper OOB taken from all these sources, then written on our excel sheets for proper setup works. Time we do not have right now, or won't have before at least a year.

So the only way to have an Egyptian campaign scenario would be for some experienced players and modders to work this with the Beta team that designed the scenarios (and we need to create units that are absent from the DB right now).

My guess is it shall take a few months of work. This can be done by motivated players who will exchange with our experienced betas on this and use our tools.

If seriously interested in this, then contact by PM in this forum either myself (I shall redirect your request) or Redaman or Brigade Infernale. :indien:

Je suppose que si la campagne est simulée, elle s'étend de 1798 à 1801.
Le départ de Bonaparte serait un event
