:tournepas 100 an hour sheesh! I'm paying $79.99 a month for 400 a day...i thought that was terrible. My Son has DSL for his XBOX360, i used to dd a game within 15 minutes lol, the sacrifices we make as parents :innocent: . I was approached by a fellow consumer as well, a fellow Matrix associate, and i'm glad you were able to work it out...there are some nice people here!
Got my ISP going, dd'ing file #5....yippee!

And that 100 meg per hour also costs me $79 per month. It's a ripoff but not many options.

HOw did you do it? Split files from Pocus? Download manager and ability to resume a session the next day?

Yes, Pocus gave me 100MG chunks...yesterday i dd'd 381 and it stopped, today i got just over 400MG...whew! Game is installed AND i dd'd the latest ACW patch for my new installation of ACW on my new Alienware Laptop. Pocus as always was VERY helpful, another reason why i will purchase 2 of everything they release, and the 100MG chunks don't require a dd manager...you just put them all in the same folder with the setup.exe and voila!

Who is your ISP that is doing this? Is this a DirectTV issue?

I believe HellPatrol said he's using the same service: Direcway (affiliated with Direct TV and now called Hughes.Net).

It's true, terrible, expensive, and the only game in town once you've spent the money for the equipment, it's hard to go to the newest competitor.

It's a ripoff until there are more satellites launched. Real hardship for us folks who live so far in the country that there is no prospect of DSL, cable, etc.

Correct, Hughes.net...i should have added a 3rd phone line and got another DSL connection. Maybe when my contract expires in 16 months :bonk: .

Finally playing the game after five days of the following:

1. Pay online by Visa.
2. Visa rejects and calls my home to verify international transaction.
3. I confirm and Visa authorizes.
4. Still rejected by Visa.
5. Try to pay via PayPal. Everything in French. Don't understand.
6. No answer from telechargement for English instructions.
7. Go ahead and try PayPal guessing where user name and password are in French. Works. I pay.
8. Telechargement sends me confirmation of purchase and download instructions (I think) in French.
9. Another day passes and Phil Thib answers where telechargement did not. Finally get instructions in English.
10. Cannot download game because file too huge for my stupid satellite.
11. Generic setup arrives in mail from forum member.
12. Purchase order and activation code (now in English) work and I'm playing.

I would have stopped at step #5 except for:
1. I love this company and the support of these developers.
2. BOA and AACW are masterpieces so it figures that this will be even more improved.
3. I'm happy to give a company money that patches and upgrades and adds new features without hitting you with expansions that cost money. The U.S. dollar made this a $50 game (with all of the difficulties and obstacles above included) so it's great to see their support and what you get for the money.

Conclusion of the rant: There's got to be a better way to get this game to the market? It's a shame that Pocus and Phil Thib are not in charge of distribution -- it would be as flawless as their games.

The trouble is that we can't be everywhere at teh same time :bonk: ...but we are working with our partners to improve on the efficiency of the service... all together, we already had over 600 sales this weekend and less than 3% of incidents...a business average I would say :siffle: (even if we want to be above average :sourcil: )

I'm glad that so many people are supporting you. It's worth it -- no matter how hard to buy.

If you ran the business side, it would be just as flawless as all your games -- not even a 3 percent problem.

Really love the artwork and easier management of reinforcements, etc.

No Problems

I ordered my game Monday night and it cost me $49 and some change. Download was a little slow, but 4 hours later I had the game installed and played through the tutorials. So far it looks to be an excellent game!
