Historical rigor always and in everything

Thu Sep 27, 2007 4:03 pm

hello, the historical rigor is necessary always and in everything in this game, for example when as historical event or when the player believes create some new this unit, it has historical name,is necessary also all historical names of generals of all the graduations, for example in the french army in 1815 l'Armee du Nord Some of his troops are, I corps(D'erlon),1 division(Quiot),2 division(Donzelot),3 division(Durutte),1 division cavalry(Jacquinot),I Artillery Corps(de salles).the historicall event is very important also, the uniforms and weapons realistics of every battalions, squadrons etc of all contries of the game.i like this,a game totally histocall and real, is important besides the fact that all the countries appear where this represented one the game since as in europa universalis II that is very faithful to the history where as europa universalis III is not historical and is not of my pleasure, I wait that the napoleon campaings is since I expect totally historically in everything, thanks.

Took me 10 min to identify Napoleon and thank God the portraits are coupled with the caption text....

I must admit i am 0 with civil war history but i'm even less than that with napoleonic history. :p leure:

Looks great, congrats to the graph artists!

That is one very impressive display, especially given that this is just a subset of what is in the game! Image

Can't wait for this.

Looking really good, but then AGEod have already set the bar high with their previous work. Can't wait to get more details on this game (absolutely love the era).

agreed. this new addition to the ageod lineup looks terriffic. what really impresses me about this and all ageod games though, is the heart and soul the team manages to instill in their games due to their passion for history, excellent game development, and staying actively and genuinely involved with those who come to love their games. there are many great games out there, but none make me feel quite the way these do.

It all looks wonderful but I'm still not sure about the pins. It somehow feels like you are moving units around on a map back at HQ rather than actually moving the units themselves. It's something I think I will quickly forget about - but at the moment it bugs me.

Very minor thing though.

I noticed the pins as well

For me, "the pins" help me to know exactly where the unit is ? I think that's right.

You might prefer the 3D Soldier model for viewing your armies Hobbes. I also like how the "pins" show exactly where the unit is, but I also like the 3d Soldier. Hopefully, there will be a hotkey or some other quick and easy way to switch between the two modes, because I think I will want to switch throughout the game depending on the situation.

Currently , switching between 2D or 3D is only available via a menu option but if you click, when playing, on the "menu" icon on top right of the screen , you could easily do the switch and then return to your current game.
