Favorite Scenario? (Or why I love Trafalgar)

Sun Sep 14, 2008 5:14 pm

Another newb just discovering this gem.

I was wondering what people's favorite scenarios are?

(And why they feel that way.)

As I've mostly been a beer and pretzels guy I'm still mastering land warfare...
But I just wanted to say how much I absolutely love the Trafalgar scenario - it's like a wonderful game of chess - you have a limited number of pieces and places to move and of course the fog of war. I love it's simple complexity - there are few fleets - so each battle and loss really cuts.

I've been trying to win as the French, but the best I can get is a stalemate.

I was wondering are there other scenarios that feature Navy units as well?

Perhaps in other AgeOd titles?

A US/UK 1812 naval scenario would be a blast!

I'm so glad I discovered this wonderful series,
I have ACW and BOA2 on order from NWS,
can't wait till they arrive!
and it's great the forums are so active.

Thanks,
amarok

You are welcome to NCP community!

Indeed I can see a suggestion within your interest for Naval scenarios.......
From the struggle for Mediterranean control, (the Siege of Tolone-Abukir) to the naval warfare in the Baltic, (Battle of Copenaghen) we could have many actractive scenarios to work over.........
....And probably they are easy subjects to work over compared to huge continental struggles!

Another nice alternative is to add the naval dimension to most campaigns, whenever relevant... to begin with the 1807 British expedition in Denmark and the 1809 Walcheren fiasco .... :coeurs:

Hi amarok, welcome!

If you have played with the french side you have noticed that Vice-Admiral Verhuell has a faceless portraits. Here is a fix.

Copy the first portrait to the "Napoleon's Campaigns\NCP\Graphics\Units" folder

And the second to "Napoleon's Campaigns\NCP\Graphics\Armies&Fleets"

In both cases, overwrite the existing files
