Font conflict

Tue Feb 12, 2008 3:40 pm

I'm having some font issues with the DB's.

Specifically, the AACW DB as downloaded uses a font set for the French units that includes the accented characters.

My installed version of AACW doesn't seem to use these, so when I export models or units from the DB via CSV splitter, I get files of slightly different names (and aliases). This causes redundant UID errors when I load after copying [via JSGME] my modded files into AACW.

Is it me and my installation? Or did a font change sneak in on me when I wasn't looking.

P.S. I've seen the same issue with regions files from ExMap..... Mostly when working on BoA2 or BoA....

Further info:

The aliases are OK as is. What creates problems [for a mod] is the different character set creating two similar filenames. Thus a simple copy of the mod files [which is what JSGME does] creates duplicate UID:

From the DB I get:
414FRAArtillerie à cheval.mdl

Present in the Models directory I have:
414FRAArtillerie a cheval.mdl

I'm tryng to avoid the 'delete folder and copy new' approach to mods, only to make it a bit easier for installation, and to take advantage of JSGME.

I don't quite get the problem, CSV splitter will only makes filenames without accents, so??
