scenario editor question

Sun Jan 13, 2008 9:05 am

So I tried some modding following Stonewall's thread of how to make changes the right way.

Step 14 is.

14. Start the game. As soon as the load-screen appear press 'F9' once. In the upper right corner 'Edit mode ON' will appear.
Do nothing. The main menu will appear for a short while then your new scenario will load automatically. If you did something wrong (or I explained something wrong) an error message will appear. But normally your scenario should just load.

Nothing seems to happen for me. I get the start up screen, hit f9, get the Edit mode on, then I have the main menu forever. Nothing loads.

Any quick suggestions. I attached my modified database file that I ended up using that csvSplitter thing on.

If it doesn't load, then there is something wrong with the scenario. Start by checking your main log. It should give some ideas as to the problem.

The log and scripts are very helpful in troubleshooting errors in a scenario.

Start the game normally. Then in Options....then system, there is a tab for error checking. Make sure this is checked.

Then start your scenerio again hitting F9 to enter edit mode. If there is an error it will show the error and the line number of the error which you can check in the script.ini file found in the ACW\Scripts folder.

hope this helps....

If error logging has to be checked that's probably it.

"That's an interesting little "box" with red text", I think were my words upon hitting the error logging. So I've obviously never had that on before.

I'll let you know if that helps.

Thanks for all the feedback.
