Brigade State Name Mod

Here is a small mod for brigade names.

In the last patch, brigades were renamed to match their leaders name. I like the change but I also wanted to know their state of origin.

So I added state names to the leader names. So Barksdale Mississippi Brigade is now identified as "Barksdale MS bde" instead of just "Barksdale Bde". Tuttles Iowa brigade is now labeled as "Tuttles IA bde". I am using the standard two letter capitalized state abbreviation to identify state names.

I only changed the names of infantry brigades. Artillery could be modified as well if someone wanted to add the state names.

Anyway, if you want would like to know the state of origin, the mod provides that information for infantry brigades as well as the leaders name.

First, make a copy of your unit folder within your gamedata folder. Then upload the zipped file from the bottom of this post into your unit folder. Then unzip and overwrite old files with the new files. This mod can be introduced into any game at any time.

This mod requires the latest patch 1.06d

Here is an update for the Brigade State Name Mod which makes the unit names compatible with 1.07 patch.

The patch added an underscore to names of the units files. I added the underscore to the modded files. Now the modded units file should directly overwrite the 1.07 files.

Upload into your units folder of the gamedata folder. Unzip and overwrite the 1.07 files.

Units that start the game in a new scenario and units already created within an ongoing game will not update to commander plus state names. Only newly recruited units within a new or ongoing game will have commander plus state names.
