Promotion Mod

Here is the updated version of the mod to make all generals promotable up to three star rank. I've eliminated some early errors, and this should be fully workable.

To install, either unzip to your C:\Program Files\AGEod's American Civil War\ACW folder, or if you prefer, you can unzip and manually move the files. File locations are in the readme. Please remember to backup your originals before installing.

Does anybody know why the designers made certain generals non-promotable?

Lack of time and historical information. The generals in the vanilla game are only promotable to historical levels, because that's as far as we have an actual basis for their attributes. Once random generals were introduced, I felt that all generals should be eligible. At some point in the future, when I have the free time (Beccause it will take a long.....long time to do), I may come back to this and do the research necessary to at least put forward an informed guess as to the possible ratings and attributes the now-promotable generals may have posessed as they climbed the ranks, but that will take a LOT of time and balancing, so don't expect that one any time soon.

For now, I think this works best with random generals as the South. Mainly because random generals tends to help the North and hamper the South, and the good generals are generally promotable in the vanilla, so being able to promote most of the leaders doesn't make much sense anyway.
