Porter seized Bowling Green. Grant occupies Paducah

In this game, contrary to the last, Union AI is very active here too.

Attached. Hope you will be able to fix this.
BTW, AI in your game really has some interesting moves and looks better and better all the time.

Forrest said something about killing a Yankee for each of his horses that they shot. In the last days of the war, Forrest had killed 30 of the enemy and had 30 horses shot from under him. In a brief but savage conflict, a Yankee soldier "saw glory for himself" with an opportunity to kill the famous Confederate General... Forrest killed the fellow. Making 31 Yankees personally killed, and 30 horses lost...

He remarked, "I ended the war a horse ahead."

I loaded your game file and I may build depot.

I've sseen nothing in the files you posted.

So:

-sorry to ask but have you tried to build depot in region where this structure is yet present? if so you can't.

- there is maybe something wrong in your SVF download. So download once again:

CSA AI is a little too much interested by WV and is weak in the West Theater. I need to write some events to help it to get a better focus. Now i've learned a rich experience with Union AI, you should expect some great CSA AI progress in the next weeks. You should win here by 1863.

early november 61: The Union army of the Potomac remains on the move, coming to Petersbrug. I've gathered forces around Richmond as Banks is keeping his position. Hooker is guarding SuffolK.

In kentucky, Grant retreated from Paducah after Polk's assault ( sort of Belmont, no?) Fremont, Porter are concentrating in Cairo...

marecone it only takes 1 supply (4 elements), I had a problem at first also, and it did take me 4 supply units. So I did a clean install and no problems since.

Early November 61: Union Ai launched 2 offensives. Even unsuccesful in Virginia he maintains the threath:

Around Paducah and Nashville, Union AI offensive this turn is more succesful and ... well led, considering Union has taken Bowling Green yet:

Early December 61

Union AI stalled in kentucky, suspending offensive ops with Winter. Now, Porter is isolated and weakening

In Virginia, McClellan is retreating toward Fredericsburg after being defeated by Beauregard but I'm trying to cut the retreat path. Banks was repulsed too from petersburg and seems low on supply... Butler is seating at Washington...

Late December 61

McClellan reached Fredericksburg before Huger and Magruder could capture the town. They were beaten. Unfortunatly, Beauregard was unactive this turn and couldn't keep the pace with Union forces.

Banks is isolated but reduction of his force is slow as I've just an handful of units to oppose him.

Image

Never forget Ai can do the right things. I pushed Polk toward Columbus as Union has left it unoccupied. But McClernand has advanced in the same time. A 2 days battle raged for Columbus; if Polk got a small victory the first day, the second concluded by his defeat and retreat toward the new supply depot I've built...

Porter, beaten retreated toward FT Henry and Donelson....Rather strange indeed.

So 61 is achieved. I saved Richmond and holds the Tennessee. I've built some units; Bragg has just joined AS Johnston in Nashiville with some new brigades.

I get around 40 WSU by turn; My inflation is around 40% ... 1862 should yet see some offensive of my own.

I think my svf is extracting wrong. Could someone please send me a capture of svf folder? I can play normal greays patch but svf no. Thanks

P.s. Idea with less supplies needed for depots is bar As union will gain even more advantage. This should be an option or perhaps a rule if ai is playing union

1) unzip this file in your aacw folder (the folder containing aacw.exe)

2) your AACW folder should contain the same directories and files than your AACW/ACW folder.

Now, it's really important to install SVF without any other mod installed. The process copies a large chunck of files from the official version so any modified ones could create problems.

Agreeing for supply, but can't be divided between hauman or AI player. I just think depot creation to be too easy for human players, and peculiarly the behemothing North. 8 elements should be more reasonnable. In any way too much depots will signify destruction of some in the rear to be unsignificant as supply will continue to flow from others.

I have solved one problem. Files were extracting wrong. I have copied them manually and I can play svf now. Problem with damn depots did stay. Do you know wich file has code for depots? If you know then I would copy it from original to svf and i beleive that would solve the problem. If that doesn't solve it I guess I will have to quit svf. Once again I apologise for cluttering this thread.

Haven't played from the Union side yet. But as the Confederates, the Union AI seems much more aggressive (in a good way) and is pushing me around pretty good. Its a real challenge to balance out the Confederate needs for manpower, WS, replacements, reinforcements, etc.

In this game, this is the best I've seen, right now I can't win a battle and feeling the heat. Longstreet beat both Banks (so-so) & McDowell (very strong) Corps singlehanded!

I'm was going to start a push, until current developements, I will have to regroup and probably wait till "63. I can't wait to see the improvements Clovis comes up with, I'm hoping for more balance and a little more aggression. Last game AI was erratic, this time very good.

As it stands now I have 95 MP, CSA 108, Union loses 28,374, CSA 16,975, I made a risky move with Fremont to retake Cairo (which he did), but almost lost St. Louis.
