The decline - inevitable?

Tue Sep 25, 2007 11:01 pm

Hi! I'm pretty much about to buy this game but I was curious of one aspect, namely the decline of empires (and kingdoms?). Is it practically impossible to keep WRE, Hunnic Empire, etc. alive to 1066 or is it just very difficult?

*hopes the forum hasn't died yet*

I would say inevitable. In addition, for the specific cases of WRE and Hunnic empires, when you play with the historical events ON, they are bound to die no matter what at a certain time (usually after some collapse / upheaval events)

Thanks for the quick response! :)

Are those conditions different for the "No historical events" and "Fantasia" game types? If not, is it possible to mod it? I realize that it's not how the game is supposed to be played, but I'm coming from the Europa Universalis(PC) tradition and nothing is more fun than guiding one nation through hundreds of years of gameplay :D

You can always tweak the events files if you wish so....e.g. you can remove the collapse events in the WRE or HUN files...at your own risks :niark:
