wrong serial key ?

Fri Jun 08, 2007 10:36 pm

Well, I just bought and downloaded GI. I installed it and put the serial number. But I get an error message stating that the serial key is invalid (!?). First I just copy/pasted the number from the confirmation mail, and then tried to manual input it, to no avail :fleb:

Now what ??

Please help.

Well, I managed to solve my problem, but it was strange: when I installed GI, I chose english language (and not the "default", portuguese - maybe it is the default because my Windows version is portuguese. But I got scared and chose english, and couldn't play). I uninstalled and reinstalled GI, now accepting the default, and voilá, my serial got accepted! So, serials have languages ?? :tournepas

Nevertheless, I must say that I am impressed with the fact that the game menus are indeed in portuguese ! Amazing

Now back to AACW... :innocent:

BUT THEN...I uninstalled and reinstalled just like Franciscus, and magically, the serial number took! :king:

So I dunno, I don't think it's the language...you just have to uninstall-reinstall. Who knows why, but thats how it is! :tournepas

Only things I did different the second time was 1) did not enter my name (optional) the second time; and 2) did not install the DivX stuff again.

Now that you mention it, on my 2nd install (successful) I also did not enter my name neither installed DivX. Maybe that's it...

Or the usual voodoo that us PC gamers are used too :niark:

To my opinion the reason is the typing of the Customer Name.
I'm going to investigate.

For those who read the forum: do not type the Customer Name for the time being.

I had the same problem and not typing in the Customer Name did the trick.
