Call for Volunteers - AACW

Mon Dec 05, 2011 3:00 pm

Hi :D

We need to try to reduce the confusion to the general users with beta patches, as the beta team is pretty much gone.

So, we are in need of 2 or 3 "veterans" to restart the AACW Beta team.

The major activity will be limited to testing "pre-release" patches. both beta and final. We are generally not going to do much with design changes at this time.

Reply either here or by PM to me. :)

Another call for help! :p ouet:

We have a new release in beta, and need a couple of folks to "vet it" before it goes public. :D

Fewer volunteers = longer wait for public version (not a threat, just reality) :)

I've done beta for two other game companies and I know the amount of effort can vary considerably. Since I'm running the tournament, I'm unsure if I have the time to do more than test installs and run a few turns, but if that's what you're looking for, count me in.

If this had been a few months ago, I'd be good. Life is ramping up too much for me right now though.

Count me in Lodilefty. I am in Afghanistan currently, and find myself with more than enough time on my hands, and no way to reliably do any PBEM. So I can test to your hearts content.

Still need a few good men? I have played this game pretty much to death (only as the CSA, cannot get into the Yankee mode) so if you want someone to run a few games as the CSA, I'm your huckleberry.......

P.S. Never Beta tested in my life, I assume I just play the game and report any weirdness?

Cool!

How do I start and what do I do? As in: where do I get the Beta patch (which I assume is hidden somewhere very safe, being worked on by 'top men' )

If you scroll down from the Main (top) forum menu, you should now see the Beta form.

Patch is in a stickied thread there...
Go, test, report!

Beta Team

Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:50 pm

I am new to ACW, but would be interested in joining the beta team. I was introduced to the game by (screen name) Wilheim Klink. We have PBEM'd a good number of TAOW3 (by Matrix) scenarios.

Currently we are trying to updated and debug an East Front 1943 Kharkov scenario (Klaus is much more familiar with the editor, but I have made observations which he incorporated.

I have also worked as a beta tester for a couple of Facebook Games CSI & an "Indiana Jones" type sim.

Klaus (Klink) suggested I join the beta team for ACW.

I am new to it, but it appears to be an excellent gaming system, with a strong internet community.

I was also very impressed with the speed in which a technical problem was resolved by your company (I had a failure downloading the manual, and the problem was rapidly corrected.

I would love to join the beta team, and have the time to spare (I am retired, and spend a LOT of time on my PC). The Civil War is one of my favorite periods.

I like the depth and mechanics of ACW, (I am still playing the AI, to better understand the details of play.

I plan on PBEM-ing Klaus (Wilheim Klink) as soon as possible.

Welcome to the forums! :w00t:

Hang around here a few days, post some questions and ideas. We're at a temporary pause with AACW beta for a few days, then we'll see how many betas are still needed. :D

I have a moderate amount of time on my hands. (I don't like to move my armies and get their uniforms dirty...) I would like to apply. :hat:

PS
I have been playing since 2008 and I am, therefore, a very experienced player. :gardavou:

Real-life issues somewhat stabilized, so I now have time to do beta testing. Glutton for punishment, me.
