Perhaps some bad poetry is in order...

According to this, I took 500 prisoners from an enemy who had only 330 soldiers. Do you need a save file for this?

A little something I like to call Olde English haiku, with a nod to our Lady.

I messed up my haiku, I think - it's supposed to be seventeen syllables, isn't it?

Yes, 17 syllables.

Classic form is 5 syllables first line, 7 syllables second line, 5 syllables third line.

Much easier than amending game code; perhaps as rewarding ;)

I know, but it just gets a little weird because the 500 becomes 170 if the "prisoner swap" political option is selected, whereas the 330 would be only 110. Not like it matters at that low level, but it adds up (I think).
Is it WAD that all generic promotions knock 4 seniority points off every leader's promoted rank?
I have played the April 1861 campaign as the Union several times, and even though the new McDowell requirement is to control Manassas, the CSA AI has yet to make any serious effort to take it; it prefers to send Johnston from the Shenandoah up to Pittsburgh and Beauregard with the AoP to attack Ft. Monroe.

It doesn't "add up", though. There are no real number of men values stored anywhere, there's just "hit points". Those "Hit points" are converted into "number of men" values in various places, for color, but those specific numbers aren't meaningful. That's what Grey was getting at above.

Maybe I am a little obsessed with the numbers... I guess it's because the Civil War game I used to play (Robert E. Lee: Civil War General) put more influence on the exact number of soldiers in each brigade.

Thing to look for: my stack of gunboats in Waverly Run (TN River) can't move into Mussel Shoals.

Clean install 1.14 RC14, April 61 campaign with Kentucky event.

Two minor things playing as CSA:
- Why is Jackson's force (comprising Stonewall's brigade, Rockbridge artillery and Jackson himself) in J Johnston's Command named a division, and continues to be named and act as a division even if dissolved and reformed (in a time in the game when division formation is still prohibited ?)
- In the very first turn, Virginia did not secede, yet the political option of switching the capital of the CSA to Richmond is available :w00t:

v1.14 rc15 Public Beta Update Patch posted

Tue Jun 09, 2009 6:12 am

Reworked the Stonewall Division/Brigade issue reported by Franciscus above.

As with all the other Public Beta Patch releases in this thread, you can apply this patch by itself over a clean install of v1.13b OR over a previous Public Beta patch installation from this thread. It is NOT recommended to install it over a v1.13b that has been QuickFixed.

See the 1st post in this thread for link.

Why is it that the balloon the USA receives by event (April 1861 campaign, nothing else matters for this effect) automatically transports somewhere else the turn it is received? In times I have played as the Union, it has transported to various parts of New Jersey and eastern Maryland.
>> I can't believe I missed this for so long. In the 1864 campaign Edward Ord is both a corps commander in Texas and commander of an army in Memphis.

The military balloon event doesnt seem to specify their destination (SelMostNumGroup but null next to it) I've seen it suggested that this sends it to the fleet which throws it back to the nearest shore.

They probably should be set to go to Washington.

The date is set for 19/6/1861 which was when Prof. Lowe gave Lincoln a demonstration but the Balloon Corps itself seems to have been set up in October.

I don't ever recall any mention of Balloons showing up in any other theater of the war than East? If one showed up in Kansas or Iowa it would probably be shot down by the farmers!! LOL. t

Turn 1 July 1861 campaign: E. Keyes and I. Richardson are brigade commanders in both D. Tyler's 1st Division and Benjamin Butler's stack in Ft. Monroe.
