A new option available for Foreign Intervention...

Sat Mar 14, 2009 10:16 am

It would be very interresting if players can choose a game where the Foreign Intervention arrive anyway at the end of 1862, before the emancipation declaration event.

We are actually trying this in a PBEM, both USA and CSA have to reload the game each time the Foreign Intervention get malus, but it is not working well. Is there some means to edit some files so that we could activate manually the intervention if we don't succeed to reach the 75 pts before its hopeless (1863) ?

The player which is host can open ACW\Events\CSA Events.sct and add this block of line at the start of the file, and it should be ok:

SelectFaction = $CSA
SelectRegion = $Richmond, VA
StartEvent = ForeignEntryBoost|1|2|evt_txt_CSA_Commissioners1861|Event-img_CSA_Commissioners1861|$Richmond, VA|127

Conditions
MinDate = 1861/08/24

Actions
ChangeForeignEntry = 100

EndEvent

foreign intervention scenario

Why not just have a standard foreign Intervention Scenario as part ofthe regular game secenarios? Start is in October 1862 and go from there. It should not be that difficult to do. Can't see that it wouldn't require more than a string or two of coding to turn on intervention and continue.

Sure, just duplicate the April Campaign and alter the initial FE.

OK, that's working. Thanks Pocus.
We are going to use it during the year 62.
To keep it as a little random event, i think we will wait that the FI reach a level (we choosed before) with the random bonus of National Moral and Victory Points before editing manually the file..

The proposition of an available Foreign Intervention "Scenario" among the "Big Campaign ones" would still be nice ( i mean, more "ergonomic" for beginners...).
