Training officer/ Master driller?

Sun Apr 16, 2006 2:44 pm

Heps!

How does a leader with the training officer trait improve your forces? Does it accelerate experience for the units from combat?

Von Steuben is a master driller (unique?) and he brings the first regular infantry unit which companies are trained ie this unit is a class above your normal continental regiment. How does he train more then?

What is the difference between these regular American infantry units?

1. 1st Continental
2. 2nd Massachusetts Rgt (regular) and
3. 1st Infantry?

Up...

Does anyone know how these traits are supposed to work and when?

I've got the same questions, Ardie. Thanks for posting the question.

good news, I checked the code. bad news, there is a bug in it. The chances were a fraction of what was the expected chances to get the upgrade, no wonders you saw nothing in the GC...

We will also rework the system, as the one is performing the upgrade on a company basis, and this produces an unwanted side effect. If possible an intermediary patch before 1.07 will be done within one week or so with this update.

Theorically, there is 2 kinds of effect:

a) a gain in experience points for military units, if a leader with the ability is in the stack.
b) a change of unit type (Infantry to Trained Infantry, or Militia to Infantry).

Check the 78' campaign, there is in the continental army 4-5 regiments of trained infantries and one of infantry (regular). This one should transform over time into a trained regiment (you have very few chances that it happens in the current 1.06.1 though).
