Portraits - very nice touch!

Sun Jun 18, 2006 7:03 pm

I wasn't sure where to put this nor whose idea this was (art/creative, game design, or programming), but I wanted to say the use of portraits on the leader playing pieces is a very nice touch.

I have recently found quite a bit more time to play. The leader portraits really helps to personalize the game to a great degree. Whoever came up with that idea, "well done"!; it further adds to the ambience.

Hé, hé...
Thank you MarkShot, it's always nice to read such words.
I wanted to make the game of my dream, and I'm very happy to see that some of my ideas are not so bad...
And Sandra help me a lot, not only with her hard works on the graphisms I couldn't produce for a question of time. She always help me with her enthousiasm and her feeling. She's a great artist !
I agree with you about these protraits, and I suggested to Pocus to put them up the stack by default, to be sure that the game looks pretty. And as you said, it personalize each army with the general in chief appearing on the piece on the map.
Thank you again !

I agree with you . I have also suggested that idea but everybody don't share the same point of view ( PhilThib ? Pocus ? ).
As for an example it's more pretty to see the sprite of Leader xxx on top of the stack rather than the sprite of the most important unit ( in quantity or quality ).

Of Course Adlertag ! Perhaps for a next patch or, I hope, for our next game !

I like the Portraits also, but do not like seeing them on the map. It looks like one person sitting there instead of an Army. I prefer the Army Symbol.

I can understand, and it's the reason why, as each has a different feeling, that I'd like to offer the possibility to choice wich kind of unit you put on the "top of the stack".

But I know how Pocus is busy with other things to do...
