A great moment in 1776 for the Revolution!

Sat Jun 10, 2006 1:59 am

I know this may sound strange given that I am a beta tester, but I am finally now getting to play the GCs. Before this, I was too busy getting another game out the door for which I am also a beta tester (COTA).

I just had to share this great moment and sequence of screen shots. I believe I have just eliminated 2/3s of the British strength in North America. (1775 GC; June 1776) Yee haw! :)

Washington has the British trapped in New York. Reinforcements are being rushed to support him.

Washington is reinforced, but it looks like the British may attempt to march down the Hudson and break the siege!

Washington has no choice, he must assault before the British can bring in a fresh relief force.

Check out these battle results. 37 British units are eliminated at the cost of 7 American units.

This has gotten as bad as my beta testing for Panther Games. Whenever, I report that I won a scenario ... the developer says, "Mark won, something must be broken, let's find it and fix it"! It's been going on like this for five years and now here.

Why won't anyone give me credit for playing well? Aargh!!!

:)

My remark is only on the apparent ease, on the strat level, for the Americans, to gather stronger forces that historically they had.

Well, you know, I was only joking.

Go ahead make it harder - I figure out a way to win sooner or later! :)

Maybe the Yanks get too many regts during 76? Difficult to say if one doesn't know the full situation that MarkShot faced in his game. What are his numbers in the Southern and Middle colonies? And what are the Brits & Tories doing there?

But the AI moves too fast on the strat map and doesn't seem care about winter at all. In my test games I wondered if the difficulty, aggression and FOW levels were somehow messed up.
