New user - (new sounds for download)

Fri Apr 14, 2006 11:15 am

Hi all,
Just got the game and so far it seems of excelent quality and Im looking forward to many wargaming hours within it.

I do have a couple of minor issues though -

combat sounds - {EDIT} Rather than complain about certain sounds I made new ones to replace them - see post a few below for samples and links.

Are they modable perhaps? Pretty sure some high quality samples of cannon/musket fire can be found somewhere if its just a matter of replacing the samples.

My other issue has been noted elsewhere in that the resolution phases seem to just fly by and combat is over in seconds before really getting a chance to see where/who was fighting. Hopefully something the devs can tweek in a future patch.

Other than these minor things game looks great :)

I've noticed the same thing with musket sounds, and for me during the battle screens, so I'll be interested also but the feedback will be on this.

For battle screens, go into the Option menu and somewhere in there you will find an Option to halt during a battle and display the screen. This will slow things down for you.

Nothing much to add here, Jeff pretty well rounded the solutions.

Thanks guys,
Rather than whine about the sounds I went ahead and made new ones :)

Hunted down a good range of sound samples of muskets and cannons and then remixed them with multiple stereo tracks to give some nice old battlefield sounds.

Sadly my webserver is down at the moment so cant upload them, as soon as its up I'll post the link and a sample in case anybody else wants them. Seem to work fine in game and (to my ears at least) sound much cleaner.
