Just bought the game through digital download - very simple and quick - 15 minutes to download.
I am currently:
1. Playing the tutorial
2. Playing the short scenarios
3. Reading the manual
4. Reading through these forums
I have some questions please:
1. This is trivial but I found the following - to the left of the nato symbols are letters that I assume denote states NC for North Carolina Ma for Massachusetts etc. However, I have seen some counters that seem to contradict this. In the 1755 Scenario, the 1st New York has the MA next to it's nato symbol as does the 1st Rhode Island. I know this has nothing to do with game splay but was just curious.
2. The manual states that the "End" key serves the same purpose as the pushing the mouse button - toggling back and forth between full zoom in and full zoom out - the mouse button does this but the "End" key only zooms in and not out.
3. In the 1755 Scenario there are a lot of fixed units. The F1 key does a great job of allowing you to sort units. Is there a way to find quickly the
units that are not locked without looking through every unit on the map?
4. Many leaders have special abilities. If I have an Artillerist who is not the overall commander, will he still provide his combat bonus to artillery?
5. How do you use the Off Map Boxes. In the 1755 Scenario there are British units in the British West Indies. What can I do with them (if I am playing the British)? I can't seem to move them.
6. Some the structures in Structure Document seem wrong. City + Depot + Fort and City + Fort look like the same icon to me. Also Fortress and Fortress + Depot seem backwards.
7. Lastly, will the manual be updated in the near future? I like to print out the manuals for reference but will wait if an update is coming (Yes I know you can Alt Tab - I just like a hard copy).
I am really enjoying the game. I have never played anything from this time period. I live near Columbus, OH and it is fun seeing the map of our area (even though some of the names seem wrong!!)
Thanks for any help.
