Piracy & Blacklisted serial keys

Thu Sep 07, 2006 6:55 am

Hi,

With BoA going retail, some pirates have started spreading BoA on Peer-to-peer networks.

The serial keys divulgated are already identified and our vigileant watch will spot any new ones. People owning such keys, legally (buyer giving away his serial) or not (pirates), will be prevented to patch further the game, or play in PBEM in the future.

What's more, if you encounter a technical problem with BoA and have a need for our support email, we will ask you to provide us with your serial key in the mail, so that we check if your key is not in the blacklisted list. If yes, we won't provide support.

That being said, legit players should not be bothered in any manner by this security policy. We don't plan in the near or far future to add digital right managements, server aknowledgment and such.

It has to be noted that every player is fully responsible of his serial. If the serial is made public, then it is the player fault, even if the leak was not made on purpose (like lending BoA to a friend which will spread the serial, etc.)

Thanks for your understanding.
Pocus, for the AGEod Team.

Great thing about banning Piracy Key Codes!!! But what the heck about legitimate owners of the game???

I bough a new copy at EB Games Canada on Friday (yesterday) and no matter which way I enter it it does not accept the CD Code that is written on the paper cd case. I tried typing it in the exact same way it appears (lower and upper case letters), tried with and without the highfen between the letter/number combinations, heck! I tried EVERYTHING!! Triesdthe "b" keys as "n" keys and vice-versa just in case and so on. What gives here? I am no newbie when it comes to entering key codes so I am darn sure it is not a "me" thing! So in other words I have a "legitimate" game I purchased and I can't even play it!!!

Any suggestions???

No one else seems to have the same problem as me???

Thanks, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

You would not get this message (in the utility used to enter your key) if the key was stolen.

What is happening is that we made the error of using the l (like in the word 'like') and i letter for example in some serial, so it renders things sometime difficult. My deepest apology for this problem.

Send me your serial as you see it to support@ageod.com and I will find the true one. You will have just to copy and paste from my email.

Nb: I will not be able to process your mail before some hours though.

additional note: There is no 'L' or '0' (zero) in the serial.

Just out of curiosity, how does this work? In case it isn't a secret of course.

once the passwording of turns will be done, we will encrypt the serial key of the player in his pbem turn, so that the host reject any pirate.

Elegant. Quite effective, too, I reckon.

Sure, send your serial key as you understand it to "support@ageod.com" and we'll figure it out.
