City control

Mon Oct 30, 2006 5:05 pm

I dont understand (even reading the manual) why if one city is in the core of my territory and with my british flag in it why it is not under my control?
do i have to leave there a garrison?

you mean to get the victory point and/or objective? If the population loyalty is too low, you need to keep a regular infantry in it (not a militia)

rebel won't pop up in 'your' city really (this will be changed in 1.10 though). If the city label is in black, it means you don't have enough loyalty to get the objective without a regular. So you need to garrison one (and by gaining the objective, you will boost a bit the number of loyalist militias that can appears).

if the loyalty is 51% or more, you will get the VP + objective even without troop there.

There is the extended manuel somewhere in the forum, have you grabed it, I think we added explainations about the loyalty effects there.

theorically yes. If a militia is to be levied, it can appears in any city, even if not a strategic one (but strategic ones are used first if available).

Theorically because if the insurgents don't have any cities, they are a raise coefficient of 0% if there is less insurgents compared to loyalists in the area, and a mere 12.5% if there is more insurgents. It means that it will be often 0 and rarely 1 unit recruited.

The extended manual is here, it has been done after the release of the game:
