Naming of Armies

Is there a way to select or change the names assigned to your Armies (Continental Army, Portsmouth Detachment, etc) that show on the tabs? I would like to be able to name them historically, or by purpose. Sometimes the computer defaults to those types of names (Canadian Army), but then I merge a unit in and it renames it after the commander. I didn't see anything about it in the manual.

That feature is not yet implemented. You can change army names in the start position of the scenarios by tweaking the scenario files (they are in text format) at your own risk ...
We'll have later on a feature for renaming, but that takes time we do not have right now... leure:
