Once I restarted it was ok. The Load Game screen does take a long time though when there are 20 save game files though.

UI became very unresponsive

I have been alt-tabbing out of PoN to read the manual, check the forums, etc... After about 12 turns (but several hours of running), the UI became so unresponsive that I had to shut down PoN and restart it. I would click on buttons and the window would not open. I saw people mention that they alt-ta...

I do thank you for the information and the reply. By the time I realized I was out of manufactured goods, the factory that used it as an input was already closed. So I guess I did have a building that used manufactured goods, but it didn't show up in my expenditures since it was closed. The UI you i...

How do you get manufactured goods?

I'm playing as Belgium and can't manage to get manufactured goods. To build something that produces manufactured goods you need 26 (which I don't have). It appears Luxemburg is producing 2 manufactured goods, but according to my Industry and Commerce window 2 are being used for unit maintenance. Is ...

Thanks for the replies. I like to try and get a decent understanding of the mechanics before I jump in, so I guess I will try the tutorial and start looking at the manual. Maybe I'll start a learning game to just try stuff out as I read. What country would you recommend for just learning the mechani...

Some questions reguarding PoN vs Victoria 2

Hi, My first question is, does the manual for PoN explain the systems clearly enough so you can understand the game just my reading the manual? My biggest problem with some of the Paradox titles is that reading the manual explains the UI, but doesn't really touch the mechanics enough. They rely on t...

Does Rise of Prussia start with an overwhelming number of units on each side in the grand campaign, like WIA 2 does? I know the number of units in WIA 2 probably isn't overwhelming to most of you here, but it is to me. I'm not talking about the number of different types of units, just the quantity o...

People can chase sales all of their lives, pinch pennies, and never get ahead. I really think that a sale on an object that is $20.00 is not the end of the world. If you are good with your money on a regular basis, this is no issue to have spent $20.00 on a game that is now on sale for $10.00 (i.e....

For me doing 50% to a game just released one and a half month ago is disrespectful for : 1 the developpers who worked so hard to create such huge games. 2 the customers who bought the game at release 20 euros. As the prior reply said, DRM is Digital Rights Management. There are lots of different ways publishers implement DRM. Even some games on GamersGate has DRM, it is just that GamersGate doesn't put their own DRM on top of the games they sell. To play Steam games in offline mode, you select 'Go Offline...

Premature suggestion :-)

I know that the game isn't even officially out yet, but here it goes. I think it would be great if the first DLC / expansion would add a grand campaign with an earlier starting date. I really prefer games where you start smaller. By the time the game starts, Britain has land all over the world. To m...

How many units / provinces to manage at start of game?

A while ago I tried to get into BIA 2, but you start with so many units and such a large number of regions it is too overwhelming. I had also purchased American Civil War, but didn't even try it because of getting overwhelmed in BIA 2. I don't really have trouble with the concepts of the game, just ...
