I've had this happen several times too in my actual game. In one instance, I had to restart the game for three times to get through to the end of the military phase. It did happen in different battles, however. IIRC, Alt-tab didn't work. I'm running the game under Vista32.

Absolutely not an automatic increment! Haven't you read the messages that informed you that the trench level of Germany and Austria-Hungary improved thanks to the adoption of technologies such as Trench Mortars A or B, and Land Mines??? Aren't you researching that technologies? No s...

Entrenchment question

In my current game as Central Powers (October 1915) I have noticed that both French and Russian units are entrenched up to level 2, while my Germans and Austrians are not; or at least their counters don't show the entrenchment symbol. I thought that entrenchment would occur somehow automatic, given ...

Great find, guys. I must admit, however, that my private notebook came back from technical assistance and the game runs just fine on it (Vista), so I uninstalled from my (work) win7 machine. But I really think I will get me an hour of spare time this weekend to re-install WW1 on it and try the patch...

OK, found one answer myself reading through some posts. Found the button for the Grand Offensive planning. It's maybe just that I'm not reading carefully enough, but I have the impression that the manual is a little deficient in actually telling players how to do certain operations, while it is very...

Grand Offensives and other stuff

Hi, just a couple of question. Am in May 1915 now with my first game, and did the first production/research/political choices in December 1914, IIRC. Am I now (May '15, Military phase) supposed to do this again, or how often in a year is production/research/political choices to be done? And as far a...

Exactly the same here. I was able to borrow another notebook with XP installed and the game works just fine. Nevertheless, I'd really like to play it on my 7 machine ...

I have a Trend Micro product installed. On unloading it, nothing changes, unfortunately.

Did some more tests, and it seems that the mouse jumpiness is determined by the size of the map. That means that I can move the mouse very smoothly in scenarios like Tannenberg or Serbia (or the tutorials), while the problems I reported (mouse freezing for a couple of seconds, no smooth movement, ve...

OK, no good news I'm afraid. Tuning down mouse sensibility didn't work; mouse still freezes on the map and on dialog boxes. I then installed Virtual XP for Windows 7; after that I installed the game on the virtual machine. On execution of the game I got the following error: "No hardware accelerated ...

Thank you very much Calvinus. I did a quick test during lunch time starting the game with admin privileges and turning mouse sensibility down and it seem to be better. I have problems also when the AI is not thinking, and I have the "load the whole map" option set. Will do some more testing this eve...

Problems with mouse in Windows7

Hi, I downloaded the game the other day. Installation went fine, but in spite of setting the "Load entire map" parameter and setting mouse sensibility at around 70%, the mouse on the game map behaves strange, freezing now and then for a couple of seconds and then flipping around like mad. Precise po...
