Pretty much agree. But remember that forts create a massive Zone of Control value, which makes it harder to go around them. They also have extremely low frontage values so a small force can defend against a much larger one. Maybe I was missing the leader! You don't have to have a leader to create a...

You don't need a leader at all to build a fort (or depot). Sorry, I meant that if you have a leader controlling the stack, he has to be active. An inactive leader can't create or destroy depots/forts. And yes, the requirements I gave are for 1.13b. I'm not sure what they are with the new beta patch.

I've never been able to figure out the Fort thing myself.. have Cannon and Supply available.. but the button would never be active  I'm pretty sure these are the requirements to build a fort. 4 artillery elements 2 supply elements Something like 75%+ military control And an active leader of ...

Note: the weather in the 1860s was considerably different than what is observed today and the effects were much harsher since they didn't have the benefit of paved roads, etc. You are not alone in expressing this opinion however, but without you providing documented proof to substantiate your claim...

Arkansas/Missouri weather

Does anyone else think that the weather in the Ozarks is a little extreme? I live in this area and can vouch that it can get cold and it snows (occasionally), but it's certainly not the wasteland of frozen tundra waiting to devour any army foolish enough to attempt to cross the teeth like mountains ...

I thought I would subsidize the Union strategy thread  I personally am a fairly aggressive player and so I really can't tolerate passive buildup of manpower until a crushing victory can be made. During the early months of the game, I invest most of my troops to the West and TransMiss. Ther...

I live next to Carrollton, AR. It's not considered a town anymore, more of a community. As far as I know, there wasn't much action around here, Pea Ridge being the closest, but apparently there were two Union soldiers burried on my land. Of course, I've never seen any evidence of this.

I know I've gotten Meade's good commander level up to 6 against Athena. Which gave him a total of like 25 cp.... If only he'd been at the head of an army  Edit - I also noticed from your picture that as Huger gained exp, he gained political value as well. A trait not desirable in a commander l...

Does that mean that a division commander could be killed without his division wiped out? Because if that's the case, there would be massive cp penalties.

But my question is how much supply does the depot at Burkeville have in it right now? If Amherst is captured, then most of the Union army will only have Burkeville to draw on. But if Burkeville has a lot of supply in it (probably not true, as it is the middle of winter) then Grant will have enough ...

I'm not sure who will win. Banks expects soundoff to send the exausted corps of McDowell and Dix, but Soundoff is actually sending Franklin and Hamilton's corps who I think are in good fighting shape. As far as manpower goes, they are even, but obviously Soundoff will have the defensive advantage. H...

What is a "hit"

I was just wondering what exactly one hit is. Like when you take a hit from retreating or from bad weather. I'm sure this question has been answered before, but hit is such a general term, it's hard to find

Much appreciated

Yeah, I don't like the idea of giving up Vicksburg like that. Well at least he was finally able to promote Hooker. On another note, I don't think Soundoff realizes how lucky he was to gain Petersburg without much of a fight. Obviously now Banks will either have to retake Petersburg, retreat or face ...

Congratulations Banks! A lot of us observers saw this fight brewing, but had no idea who had the advantage. Glad to hear everything went swell on the other fronts too.

I have also noticed the lack of MTG on battle reports. I'm not sure if I've ever seen evidence of MTG from a battle report.

Aacw Pbem

Hey, I'm looking for an April 61 game. This will be my first pbem, but I have moderate experience with the AI. I have no preference on sides and also no preference on who hosts.

I can manage a turn every day or so and I'm running 13b.

I don't have any specific rules, but am open to anything.
