for me its gotta be playing the British Empire first! i kinda like the micro management it would incure, supposingly of course that you would have to support a recruitment programme for all the variuos people that would fill its ranks. British, Canadian, Indian, Australian, New Zealanders, South Afr...

i think a even if your forces where set to a passive state, the fact that the enemy made a naval landing which many people say is a "do or die" mission i believe your forces would have used some AI of there own and repelled the landing attack anyway.

theres too many variables to consider when conducting a battle to predict loses etc with regards to entrenchment, weather, generals, subbordinats, fatigue etc which is wat makes AACW such a great game. may i remind you that even if one army has less loses in a battle they can still loose the battle ...

i concur, if you are repairing a railroad that has been damaged and cut the line you can repair it with any infantry or cavalry unit, an engineer will speed up the process but 9/10 it will only take 1 turn to repair anyway :)

Regardless of whether you think it's a good idea or not (I personally would like the flexibility to do so, but understand others may not), the fact remains there are Confederate 4 Star Generals in the Game. There is a 4-star general that you never get control of on the CSA side, who is available for a very limited amount of time in 1861 -- but he starts that way and isn't promoted to 4-star rank. yeah your right the CSA general cooper is a 4 star general and outranks all the confederate generals in th...

wat we gotta remember is that this game is purely a "what if" game, the game does have to have historical accuracy but not at the expence of loosing the "what if" factor, otherwise a lot of generals would just suddenly disapear leaving armies on the field without good leadership.

AFAIK, the political rating only comes into play when you wish to bypass a general who is senior in order to promote a general with less seniority, assign a junior general to command an army or remove a senior general from army command. i knew that however would it not be a good idea as it is to en...

it does give you a bombardment advantage i think... but lets not forget the fact that you can do both, keep some troops inside as a garrison force and some outside to patrol the countryside to eliminate the threat of a siege. then you can boost your entrenchment level with having both a fort and tre...
