I am bumping this thread in the hope that the scenarios will get reworked soon to include things like heavy cavalry replacements for all nations that need them, as well as some multinational replacements (like the Italians in the Spanish campaign). I looked through the Historical Options for all nat...

I don't understand this - does this mean the removal event bug has been fixed or remains unfixed in this patch?

When the Army of Shenandoah was spawned, i bought an Army HQ to speed up the replacements process. After 9 months of war this replacement is still in the pool. Sigh :tournepas Why "sigh"? The manpower model is what keeps me from seeing this as a "serious" ACW game. Don't get me wrong, I love the game and it's probably the best ACW effort of all time, but it's possible for both players to build and maintain totally ahistorical troop levels. This grates on me. I don't believe there is ...

How do you play as the Union and not run low on war supplies? 2)So there is no way you are only using 75 points per turn unless you mean only troop movements. 1) I don't know - I just don't. Perhaps I'm not as enamored by artillery and ships ...

I think the only problem with the event is 10 morale might be just enough for a USA player to use gamey tactics to circumvent the spirit of the event.

as a corollary to this, always remember that the projected totals are just that

i usually leave a comfortable buffer in case the projections fail since i hate starting a turn with zero or near-zero balances

Currently the best strategy is to take the most manpower you can. There's no real downside. The morale cost is so low I don't even consider it, and with the exception of the very first call for Volunteers, both sides can afford to pay 3,000 per point.

Army Commands do not initiate combat, regardless of posture. Keep the Army behind the lines, staffed with leaders, extra supply wagons, a some reserve troops so the HQ doesn't get accidentally overrun - do not send them into battles.

This is not something you want to keep track of IMO. Once you start worrying about individual elements to this extent it's easy to let turns pass until all the micromanaged details are straightened out and oops there goes the spring offensive.
