There is nothing worse with that aging speed or level...surely the revolt is a key factor, may be (most likely) you do not do enough of administration with your ruler... Age at start of various scenarios also includes effects of historical events and rulers, so it can't be compared with ...

One more Aging question

Sorry to be such a bother, but I'm still having trouble understanding aging. I'm playing the long game, historic setting, as the red player. Three times now I've ended up with the eastern roman empire rocketing up to Age lvl 3 in about 15 years. I assume I'm doing something wrong since the Eastern R...

Historic Proof of Stratagem Cards

I just read the following from Oman's 'The Art of War in the Middle Ages' -

"Finally, either through exhaustion or through a Scottish stratagem, the entire English front broke to pieces, and the defeat became a rout."

Would that have been the Bad Omen Stratagem, or maybe Cowardice? :)

Outstanding game, by the way. I'm still having problems with rapid aging. I've been paying close attention to the administration table, paying for maximum AD points every time. Still, nine years into the game my Eastern Roman Empire has already aged to level 2. Unless I'm reading the rules wrong, th...

I may have solved my problem. I thought that if you had enough APs to spare you didn't have to alter the nation management screen. Whoops. My poor Eastern Roman Empire was really doing quite well, but they managed to age all the way up to 4 in about 27 years.

Ageing

How does ageing work? I've started two games and recieved wildly different results, but I'm not sure what I did that made such a difference.

Critical cities for both the war effort or for national pride. All of those currently on the list, probably could stay there, but, for game blanace sake, here are some other options. Vicksburg - The link between the Eastern and Western Confederacy. This important rail junction on the Mississippi wa...

Another possible mod tweak - In the game there are HUGE penalties in confederate national morale given when you loose New Orleans, Nashville, Memphis or Richmond (accompanied by a boost in Union morale). This probably works well with competitive games, but historically it doen't fit. If you loose th...

and the higher ranks were not immune.....Jackson, Polk, Sedgwick, McPhearson, AP Hill, to name a few above the 1 star level who I could immediately think of....and in none of those cases what the entire force destroyed. I'm sure it has been said before. And lets not forget that ol' A.S. Johnston wa...

KIA and WIA Leaders

I'd like to see leaders get hit more often. I've only seen it happen once.

OK, the latest changes, virtually all CSA enhancements for the leader optimization mod, which will even the score for the Rebels in terms of getting some corps commanders available for the East and West. Here are the changes: Automatic promotion to 2 star rank for Jackson and Longstreet around June...

In the same vein, I would like also to see gain or loss of seniority AND/OR politics for random leaders, for example a leader is seen publicly as a drunkard or a womaniser, is severely rebuked by his superiors, or falls out of favour with his political supporters. I've thought about that too. It wo...

I've got an idea that might make everyone happy. Can you give seniority points through events? Instead of an auto promotion, give a leader 4 seniority points. If the player feels this is unrealistic in their current game, they don't have to promote the leader, but if a player wants a leader promoted...

I agree with your suggestion on Pemberton. It would seem that he should be the 'Confederate Rosecrans' or 'Confederate Buell' and arrive with 3 stars and an ability to command an army, based on the historical record. With regard to Bragg and Hardee, I would think it could be argued that both were s...

I didn't like the events in BoA that made Burgoyne or Gage disappear, or magically move on the map when promoted to army command. I wouldn't want the same issues in AACW. I generally don't like events which force the player to follow the historical timeline. Promoting leaders is one thing, but swit...

An additional $0.02: Hardee's 'corps' at Shiloh consisted of only 3 brigades. 1-star w/ high seniority seems appropriate. Jackson needed his performance at Bull Run to earn recognition (those 4 points). At that time he was just one of 3 (or 4?) brigade commanders in Johnston's Army of the Shenandoa...

Nice Mod. I like the adjustments you've made. There are a few Confederate Generals who might need bumped up in the ranks when they appear in the game. Pemberton - His first command was the Department of South Carolina,Geargia and Florida; then he was transferred to the command the Department of Miss...

Any chance of adding automatic promotions for some Confederate commanders? As the game stands you need victories to promote leaders, but several leaders recieved rapid promotions despite poor showings in the field - Van Dorn comes to mind. ps. This mod of yours looks outstanding. I'm really excited ...

new question - probably another dumb one

I've located a lot of the stuff I wanted to change, even figured out how to change it. I decided to start off small and simply move the Manassas Depot to Chalottesville. I made the change to Nelson County in Scripts/Scripts62, saved it. Then loaded the scenario. No change. What am I doing wrong?

In East Texas - Milan should be Milam. Also, there was a railline from Shreveport to Marshal Texas, but there wasn't one from Shreveport to Monroe. The Vicksburg to Monroe line was called the Vicksburg/Shreveport line, but apparently the westernmost leg was unfinished. At least it was in the 1860 su...

Getting Started: excited & confused

I'm so excited. This game actually works. I've been a student of the Civil War all of my life and before I started my current hobby (writing) I tried my hand at creating a monster ACW boardgame (I'm a counter-pusher from way back). That experience left me with the opinion that the ACW was too comple...
