Weather Problems

I`m curious if the next patch will address the unrealistic weather issues in and around the Ohio River areas, and down to the Cumberland River, where you get almost continous snow/freezing weather from about late Oct through March. Many people, including myself, have brought up detailed examples of ...

No Thanks

With all due respect, threads like this invariably lead to nasty off topic political debate that create bad blood amoung the Community.

It doesn`t belong here, on this Game Specific Forum IMHO.

FWIW, I thought NM, as it effects the winning or losing of the Game, was based on territory lost, especially large cities ? Well said Dan. I think McN and Hancock and the rest are actually doing a great service in providing free OPTIONAL mods for the Game. Pocus has stated NONE will be included in an official patch without the Devs looking at balance effects and/or screw-ups they might have regarding the default game. Su...

What are you suggesting for the western weather patterns? Or is this about the AI and its lack of respect for winter's harsh effects? I really think this is a vital piece for the game as regards accuracy. To dismiss it would be like saying weather played no part in the Eastern Front during WW2. OK,...

The troop killing Snow and Ice usually start in Sept. and last continuously through March North of the Ohio river, and in the areas just below it. Since this Weather includes the line Lexington - Louisville - Bowling Green, which the Union should have by `62, it effects troops who are not inside a c...

Weather or Not ?

What`s the verdict on Mikes _unoffical_ weather patch upthread ?

Is it a useable option in a Campaign Game re-start in anyones opinion?

Is Stonewall`s still in progress ? Nothing on that in 3 weeks.

IMO, the default Weather routine breaks the Game. Especially in the West.

Thanks

I`m not quite sure what your asking for ? Could you run that past us again please? What I`d like to see in the realism department is the actual unit structure of the period. After having the AI take Washington in late 1861 in an early, and so far my most interesting & exciting Campaign Game, at the default settings , I`ve kept 1 small Division starting in late `61 in D.C. The Mystery Of Supply

No. They are understrength in many cases to start the game. If you buy enough replacements to bring them up to strength, you will not have to buy any more. You are not paying for supplies. That doesn`t seem to be the way it`s working now in my games. Full Suppy Wagons that move into the red do not ...

Optimizing Your System To Run AACW

That says it. Any hardware/software pros around to give advice ? I notice that the AI `s Campaign Game turns are taking much longer as I move into 1863. In the end, it may be the AI needs more tweaking, like to secure a line of supply when attacking (instead of putting all forces in the front, try spreading things out). Also, what players may want to do, is to create some personal house rules regarding the AI. In my opinion, sometimes players play ...

my main problem with this theoretical change in division limits is that most divsions in the Civil war tended to have a fairly large number of regiments, even on the Union side. Looking through the OOB for I Corps at Gettysburg, i count 11 infantry regiments in Wadsworth's division, 11 more in Robi...

Interesting. Just bought it, so I'd be interested to hear if Bragg's command was just the HQ left, as you mention as a possibility. I agree with McNaughton's assessment. The issue of AI recklessness and how it relates to FOW has been discussed previously as well. The bottom line seems to be that for the best game, you dont want the AI to have a FOW advantage as they will make too many reckless attacks. I am getting ready to sta...

Well, what are your difficulty stats? What is the FOW setting? This information would actually be useful! Try a more passive AI setting if this one is too aggressive, try very minimal, or even no FOW bonus (try one, then the other, then both to see if it improves things). Maybe the AI has reached t...

Rebs March Deep Into The Union Rear

I like this Game a great deal, and try to play the land warfare part of it in a historical manner using the opperational doctrines of the times, the actual historical timeline driving my gameplay. I didn`t see a Readme File included in the Mod and may have missed this in the thread.

What does replacing just the units and models files with yours do in the Game ?
