For the sake of argument, in what way does this bug make it harder for the AI? You stated yourself that the AI does not value depots enough as it is, and obviously does not protect them well enough. The auto-destruction of captured enemy depots, removes an easily recaptured depot from the enemy for...

I consider this bug to be detrimental. The AI does not value deports enough as it is, and does not construct new depots as it should, so adding a code that makes it harder for the AI is not a good idea. In my latest game, the US (AI) was defeated by my southern forces in summer of 1863. I destroyed ...

They are after the patriot act of 2002, erm, I mean the partisan act of 1862, under irregulars. The nice this is,in game, they seem to constitute the only CS Regular Army infantry units.

Yes but we are talking the Gulf BB; the south can easily rotate out damaged brigands, and couple that with an early offensive against your one port at Ft Pickens this can spell disaster for your northern blockade. Remember they are playing full supply rules. I wonder too if the current rules really...

Don't feel bad for trying... The input makes me double check things and occasionally I have missed small things... The RR line from Petersburg to City Point is an example... It was so small I originally missed it until another gamer pointed out its value and even the harbor that is currently locate...

Cheaper alternative to wagons is river transports - two transports can make a depot just like two wagons (but the depot must be a port). Once you focus on the rivers and bypass the rails you can make some deep sweeping moves. Yes, I use the starting transport-ships to build depots at Shreveport, LA...

Like I said - Lincoln tried to bully Davis and he was not for bullying - as was most of his cabinet. The CSA depending more on trade for its existence than the North - Davis probably assumed along with most of his cabinet that they could not leave coastal batteries in the hands of Feds under the ch...

Davis could not afford to let Lincoln resupply and reinforce Sumter - it would have weakened the new Confederacy to recognise that Feds had any claim to any coastal forts etc. No other CSA President could have done anything else - I believe that Lincoln wanted to bully the South - he overplayed his...

Well, I feel bad for trying to help your work when it obviously isn't in need of correction... But, this image here might be a jewel for your work, if you haven't seen it allready. It is not advisable to apply the RR mod files before other MODs. The other MODs are tailored specifically for the version of the game they are listed for. The RR mod makes changes that are generally useful for a "vanilla" version of the game only, as it contains information/changes that will be app...

Some cut'n'paste information

"Staunton played a pivotal role during the Civil War years when the Shenandoah Valley served as the "Breadbasket of the Confederacy". While most of the battles were being fought north or west of the town, it was the presence of the Virginia Central Railroad that provided a vital link between the Val...

I think Rockbridge is a suitable name for the region... Staunton is allready a town and can be seen on the map... Adding a depot to the region, you could name the depot "Staunton"... http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/6555/shenandoahuc4.jpg http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/6555/shenandoahuc4.9fc35...

I found adding a depot at Rockbridge, VA called Staunton and one at Warren, VA called Strasburg made a whole lot of difference in the Valley. All of the sudden, the Valley has strategic importance, J. Johnston's army receives men and replacements and the reservebrigade at Rockbridge doesn't starve o...

I like all 3 suggestions, but especially #2. This is imperative. One reason the Valley was so hotly contested is because it was a source of supply for the South. This is not reflected in the game, and, in fact, the Valley is of very little importance. Johnston's initial Army actually suffers penalt...

We will discuss the first 2 points with the betas and the coordinator :) As for changing army names, it is planned but as the code auto-rename things often, to keep the names consistent (like when you remove Zollicoffer, it will rename the stack 'Detachment' automatically), this pose some problems ...

Not sure about the first suggestion but I agree with the 2nd. Either this or Johnston's force should start in Winchester - I personally have been doing this in my game... :cwboy: Adding him in Winchester will circumvent the problem to a certain extent, but the troops will still not gather enough st...

Hi there... I have a couple of suggestions (that I, thanks to help on the modding-forum, have added to the April 61 Campaign, with great success) These suggestions are for the April 1861 campaign: 1. Add the Richmond- and Washington D. C. Fortifications 2. Add a depot in the Warren, VA region, calle...

Don't forget this rather famous blockade runner: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/79/GABLE01.jpg :D Did Butler do blockade running? I thought he only owned and supervised the operation, not being on the ships himself. Maybe I'll have to watch the movie again. Great movie by the way.....

it will happen, just hold on... Suppose you could look at it as the state authorities preparing the infrastructural work required to start mass enlistment of men.

What date is it current? I know that by 1862 you'll be able to recruit troops from Kentucky, mass of troops.

Joe Johnston is arguably the greatest general of the Confederacy I think so too, but Joe Johnston was suffering from the departmental system created by Jefferson Davis and his Secretary of War. With the current system, Joe Johnston was uncertain of his authority and were having a hard time organizi...

I for one think G T Beauregard had the most appealing looks of all the civil war generals. He actually looked like a little Napoleon :) I guess you had to sport a beard in those days to have the respect of the soldiers, and of course, as many of the generals were rather young, a nice beard, I suppos...

a "newbie" question

Hi there. I just have a little question, dare not try it out, that is; I can recruit brigades from Mussouri, but I have basically lost the state. I control no city in that state anymore. If I choose to recruit Missouri brigades, without controlling any city, will the bridage spawn in a different sta...
