For information, found another topic mentionning the same problem meanwhile.
Pocus advised to load a turn before.
I reloaded up to 5 turns before but all saves seem corrupted...and pressing next turn returns to main menu.
I'll try a new game with zipped saves option.

Hi Pocus, Just had the same problem in Japan 1858. Tried to use backed up games. Went 5 turns before but each save gave the same result : back to main menu. Relatively desperating to have to begin a new game knowing it could happen anytime again after hours of play. Thanks for your help...and great ...

Hi, Need some help here. As a beginner, I play Japan and am now in 1858 but since last turn when I press the next turn button it brings me back to the main screen and saves the game. So it is now impossible to continue to next turn...which is sad knowing how much time it took to go to 1858. I exited...
