I have to agree with Longstreet getting the entrencher ability. He set the standard for fieldworks at Fredericksburg. I think his offensive rating is much too low. Longstreet was at times slow to move and tried to delay orders he didn't agree with but he launched crushing attacks time after time. Se...

Each heart represents 50 men, so at the start of the campaign the Regiment is at full strength. This will change prior to battle if the Brigade's supply lines are cut and it's supplies on hand are used up. Is it possible to space the hearts so its more obvious what the total...

Manassas does look a little out of place. Centreville should be there. Throw in some screenshots of generals. I'd like to see what special abilities they have.

President Davis asked Lee to go west several times and Lee politely refused to volunteer and thereby challenged Davis to issue a formal order. Had Davis taken decisive action with Bragg after Stones River and the retreat to Chattanooga, it is possible that Longstreet or Lee would have taken the com...

Ok guys. I am a bit jumpy this morning so take my apologies. I didn't think that you should not allow the general to move between theatres. I just suggested that he gets some penalty. Philippe and I are on the same page as it seems to me. Like if let say Forrest would move east he would get 10% pen...

It would be strange to see the Army of the Potomac at New Orleans but Grants original command that became the Army of the Tennesse traveled farther than that. It stated in Missouri and either fought in or moved through Illinois,Kentucky, Tennesse, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, ...

Ok, ok. I give up. Forget about whole thing. Don't take it personally just because someone disagrees with your idea. Everyone has bad ideas at times. I'm not being unfriendly I just don't agree with you. I think that if you looked at what some of the main generals of the war did you would see that ...

It is my guess that Grant will be able to fight both in west and east. Forrest on the other hand should fight better in western theatre. And BTW if you want very historically accurate game then generals should fight where they historically did. Thne again I agree that this could be optional so that...

Right, but we have some features that makes generals leaving their 'favorite' theater of operation a bit less effective (the 'lose' some % of their characteristics and/or abilities)... this might be implemented... The problem with that is most generals fought in multiple theatres. How do you decide...

Maybe some other model but that would keep genrals in states where they did fight historically. We could let say make Lee fight in eastern theatre only and if a player would move him west then he would get some penalty. AGEOD team said that this will be historical simulation and if Forrest fights i...

It's a bad idea. Someone shouldn't be penalized if he wants to send a general to a state he didn't fight in during the real war. It makes no sense.

I agree "Jefferson Davis and his Generals" is a very good read, but Braxton Bragg has go to be in a class of his own for incompetence and unpopularity. There are lots of stories about him but I vaguely remember reading that the Confederate newspapers near the end of the war had a headline "Bragg ta...

Foote makes for excellent reading, and his style is entertaining for history buffs and non-history buffs alike. However, i do have some reservations about him, not to detract from his books or his legacy. For one he was a fiction writer, not a historian, and when he writes, it shows. On the plus si...
